Cat-sitter £160 for 10 days

Vet bill: check up, vaccination, meds, nail cutting etc £350

(the cat-sitter will take the cat to the vet for only additional £20)

Bloody ridiculous!

I cannot leave her alone. Friends and relatives cannot have her because her vaccination has lapsed (they have pets too)

But the shit hit the fun. I have abdominal pains (colic), I am cancelling my trip to Korea.

Sorry to hear you are having to cancel your trip.

Maybe if you can now get your cat's vaccinations up to date it will help give you peace of mind when you are well enough to travel and can leave her with someone you trust to keep her safe.

Fell backwards twice yesterday because of uncontrolable shaking, landed on the deck, tried my utmost not to fall on my back and fracture yet another spinal bone. slid all the way down garage wall. My poor hubby didn't have strength to save me. However our kind neighbours took control and with a lot of effort managed to get me up into a chair, phoned 111, brought cups of coffee, and blanket and made me comfortable until ambulance arrived. Fortunately our strapping builder neighbour was on his way back from a walk when this happened.:shocked::shocked::shocked:

Thank you Daddy, It's more than 10 weeks since I have been almost pleading for a face to face Doctor's consultation, all Ive been offered so far is phone consultations. How can you show execessive jerking and uncontrolabe shaking on the phone?:confused: My neighbour came back from 3 weeks holiday and couldn't believe the deteriation in me, having lost 2 stone and not able to walk without aid.

Can't believe you are having to go through all this without a face to face appointment with your GP. If you fall again, hopefully not, maybe getting an ambulance to lift you and telling them about your fast deterioration could get you get a face to face in A & E with someone who actually can help?

Wish I had a magic wand but all I can do is send you a massive virtual hug.

I've just wrenched my back and can hardly move. Don't believe it, and I was only putting some leftover paper plates away!

Hot shower and strong painkillers as I've managed to loose 20lbs since the start of May and I'm determined to get some sort of walk in at the park this evening.

Hot shower will increase the blood flow meaning any inflammation will get worse

Having my first holiday in 4 years.

Im off to great Yarmouth, I normally take the M11 / A11 / A47, this takes 2 1/2 hours, but my route planners say I can't enter the A11 from the M11 and have to join it via the A14 past Camberidge, adding another hour to my journey.

Enjoy Hom3r, I am envious, not been to go on hols for some time. However today I am completely inconsolable I have lost our wedding ring after 47 years. Lucky me as Mr T is trying to console me by saying at least we have't lost each other, and the ring is replaceable we are'nt.:(

I am insensed, bought an electronic typewriter from EBAY uk, the item was just what I wanted, however I found because the ribbon was very faint I would have to order a replacement. I scoured the internet until I finally found a source describing replacement for my model number, it did not fit. The seller tried to imply that I was not inserting it properly, however when he saw the photos of the new and old ribbon, there was no denying they were different.
I then contacte Ebay about their money back guarantee, totally useless because the seller does not accept returns. It begs the question 'When is a guaranteed refund not a guarantee I have been buying from Ebay for almost 18 years I'll have to think twice in future.?:(

Get in touch and mention to ebay the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the item was A not as described and B not fit for purpose.

It reads
Quote:

Fit for purpose The goods should be fit for the purpose they are supplied for, as well as any specific purpose you made known to the retailer before you agreed to buy the goods.

As described The goods supplied must match any description given to you, or any models or samples shown to you at the time of purchase.
If you paid with paypal I would raise a claim with them as well

---------- Post added at 22:21 ---------- Previous post was at 22:17 ----------

My weights arrived and as I had to order a smaller set and some spares as the set I wanted was out of stock (I am impatient) Should have read properly as they are not balanced for what I need on the dumbbells so I have had to spend another £34 on top on a set of 4x5KG cast iron weight plants. I think that is a fair price and saves me having to have a massive Vinyl weight and a smaller weight one side balanced with smaller weights the other. Ended up costing £140 in total but should have enough weights to keep me going a good while once they are all here

You lost a lot of 'pounds' there Jay. Thanks for the information above, but small print on the typewriter advert on Ebay states

Registered as a private seller Thereby, consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not apply. eBay buyer protection still applies to most purchases. :(

Rest assured I won't fall for that again.

I require blank DVDs. A site I found on google offered them with "free postage on orders over £25, £5.95 under £25" on a banner across the top of the first page.

I went to the site and added enough to take the order over £25 (before VAT). On checking the basket, I saw that it had added £9.95 for postage. I tried various quantities from a single pack to 10 packs, and the £9.95 postage fee remained.

I emailed them and was told that their postage was a standard £9.95. I had added the banner offering free postage to the email, but they just replied that it was "an old banner".

Off I went to several other sites, and £5.95 is their standard postage, but many add a few quid more for "heavy orders".

I ordered a cat flea treatment from ebay. What has turned-up is a much inferior version of what I paid for.

There had been no negative reports from the seller when I did the order, but today I saw a whole list of people complaining that they have received the same.

Ebay has sent me a QR code to send the order back.

I did note that the seller had both types of the product on their seller's page, but the good one is now out of stock. I suspect the seller was trying to get one over on it's customers.

Not a good day
Docs app prostate exam and urine test. Blood in urine and enlarged prostate. Not the best results for my anxiety but still could be just a UTI and normal 54 year old golf ball. Antibiotics for a week, PSA bloods next week followed by docs app on the 6th for further urine test for blood and results. If blood is still there then it is refer to urology

Hope the antibiotic sort you out Jay.

Just in case this is relevant ... My husband has had DREs and antibiotics for UTI/sepsis ... If you have had a physical prostate examination or a UTI then any elevation of your PSA figures is too be expected for up to 6 weeks after the DRE and also 6 weeks after the UTI infection is cleared up so don't panic. Like John did.

Not saying GP's aren't all aware of these effects but you knowing could, maybe, keep your stress levels down.

PM me if you feel like a natter.

Hopefully still very treatable. Testicular cancer has a 96% cure rate even when it's spread. The downer is chemo, but for TC its very effective. Unfortunately I know too much on the subject.

Many thanks for that Mr K, I have passed this information on to my friend, this should lift their spirits. :)

Get something cold on it and take a paracetamol. I know you had problems getting your appointment but anyone of any age can have this happen so I'm sure you will be OK if you give it a little time to recover. Is there a time limit you have to meet or can you just reschedule the test?

Asda has a lot of good offers on jeans at the moment. But the ones I found in my size all had the same thing that has appeared more often over the past few years: very short zips.

Impossible to get the "old man out the hammock" when needing a wee.

I get to the gym this morning at 4.30am assuming it would be nice and empty. And it was.

But just as I’m finishing my stretching 2 people wandered in and started working out. Seriously, the very reason I go so early is because I dislike other humans especially when I’m at the gym.

I was not pleased.

Panasonic has created horse blinkers for humans to help workers avoid distracting colleagues in the office.

Dubbed the Wear Space, it also features noise-cancelling headphones to ensure nearby conversations don't hinder your concentration.

The headset 'instantly creates a boundary with the surroundings' and provides 'a psychological personal space', according to its designers.

I was thinking more of a cattle prod as they’d be easier to smuggle in through those tube- like doors that only allow one person through at a time, one side closes as the other opens.

Turning up with a chainsaw would attract too much attention and gives them enough time to escape and/or run away.

A cattle prod would be easier to disguise.

Have I been putting too much thought in to this?

Over 25 hours into Starfield and I have found a common bug for those who have done a lot of Faction and Sidequests. I can not proceed in the main mission it just does not trigger. So I am waiting for it to be patched

Devastating news today that my old school friend who I have known from primary school 75 years ago passed away last night. We have kept in regular touch over all these years. I am wondering if the worry over her husband's testicular cancer has hastened her demise. :bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:

I lost 2 really good friends in their early 30s one from a motorcycle crash and another suicide. The most tragic part was they were brothers

I know I am moan moan moan but today I had the worst experience at the hands of the NHS in my life.
11 hours in an unconditioned room. Humiliation due to lack of communication. Hours and hours just waiting for meds they they forget the most important drug.

And on top of all that 3 new friends in the form of kidney stones one blocking my right Kidney tube ( dunno the name) causing excruciating pain that possibly has past into my bladder now as the pain has gone but now I have to wait to pass it

Woke up this morning with a dull ache in my lower back that got worse but is managed with Ibuprofen so far

I googled some of the terms in my notes to see what they were and it looks like the is a mild infection and inflammation caused by the stone I am hopefully going to pass soonish. it is in the tube on the way to the bladder 4mm so not huge apparently but 4mm on the route it has to take does not sound fun to me hahahaha

It sounds as though you are having a rough time Jay. <<hugs>>

Probably me just being in Mother Hen mode. ... but if you suspect the infection is worsening, and you've not been already given antibiotics don't delay contacting the DR. Passing the stone won't stop any infection and once a UTI get a real hold it definitly needs treating.

We didn't know why my husband was feeling 'off' other than he was running a very high temp. 1 hour later he was being blue lighted to A&E with suspected UTI related sepsis. Not kidney stones, but was confirmed as Sepsis so please don't just wait around too long.

I was given antibiotics for a UTI 2 weeks ago and it did clear blood and infection markers from a urine dip test.

They have given me anti biotics for this along with codeine phosphate and a prostate relaxant which is meant to ease the passing ( but need it out of my kidney to bladder urethra first)

I know loads of people suffer this but I am at the starting point and know I have pain ahead. Maybe I will be able to laugh about it after hahaha

Not for the first time, went to add an item to my Tesco delivery order for Sunday only to find my slot had expired, what? I had spent ages selecting my requirements. I keep ordering some wine from Tesco (a specific brand I like).

Each time it lets me add it, and takes the order.
Each time the order fails as its out of stock on the day. :td:

FFS, if its not available, why keep letting me order it, I do not for one second believe its so popular it sells out each day.

Fed up with waking up around 4/5 am. It’s a very boring part of the day. Especially when I keep finding myself unable to stay awake around 9/10 pm. This getting older malarkey is getting very boring and annoying.

I recommend audio books , just enough to keep you distracted from thinking of other things, whilst not stopping you drifting off.
I know chapter1 of many books very well
