Bogus story, clubs can't take the premier league to court, they sign an agreement not to when they join the league
http://www.theguardian.com/football/...ints-deduction They could take Sunderland to court instead though |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
This is the West Ham/Sheffield United saga from 2006 all over again. They don't make a noise when the punishment is handed out and then when they get relegated start bleating about court cases. Just admit that you sucked all season. Sunderland gained 1 point out of 12 that they could have won with the ineligible player fielded. So he didn't make that big a difference to the team. I could understand if Sunderland had won 2 or 3 of those games but they lost 3 of them.

Klopp turned down United right away. Didn't even hedge his answer to see what they could offer. It doesn't sound like he will leave Dortmund this summer.
Simone maybe but not sure he has been there long enough to be considered anything other than a gamble. We've had this sudden surges from managers before. It wasn't long ago that some Arsenal fans wanted Moyes or, amazingly, Owen Coyle. I think United shows how careful and considered we need to be. |

I think Arsenal will choose Wenger. Not seeing anyone else in the frame.
Only way they will change, is if wenger quits, or they don't qualify for champions leagues |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
It was reported when the sticky patch occurred that CL qualification wouldn't have had bearing on Arsenal offering Wenger a new deal. It would have been either Wenger or Arsenal choosing one way or another.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I think Wenger stays another two years then klopp or Simone or someone else might be ready
|
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
The next 2 years are the transition years then. Behind the scenes for sure. New people being brought in for new ideas training the youngsters. Its only the U21s that get continuity of whats already inhouse, 'Arsenes men' if you like getting promotions.

No points penalty due over Ji
Sunderland will not face a points deduction from the Premier League in the continuing row over fielding Ji Dong-won with incomplete registration. Sunderland will not face a points deduction from the Premier League in the continuing row over fielding Ji Dong-won with incomplete registration. Press Association Sport understands the Premier League is confident any issues regarding Sunderland striker Ji's incomplete registration were resolved as soon as they were uncovered. Fulham and Norwich are understood to have contacted the Premier League for clarification on the fine handed to Sunderland over fielding Ji for four games without full registration. Gaps in the 22-year-old Black Cats star's paperwork were highlighted following a routine drugs test, and the Premier League and Sunderland resolved the issues as a result. The Premier League remains comfortable with the punishment handed out to Sunderland, and is not thought to believe any legal challenge can be mounted against the decision. Sunderland forward Ji was correctly registered on arrival at the club in 2011, but issues arose after a loan spell with German club Augsburg. Despite always being correctly registered with the Premier League and the Football Association, Ji's name was missed off a list of Sunderland players sent to world governing body FIFA for doping purposes. Sunderland are thought to have reported this issue to the Premier League as soon as it was brought to their attention. Press Association Sport understands the Premier League's investigation found that an online form had not been properly submitted to FIFA. Sunderland are thought to have told the Premier League they submitted the form, but that a technical fault caused it never to reach FIFA correctly. The Premier League board is understood to have determined that the technical nature of the oversight merited the fine meted out. The Press Association understands no further action will be taken, despite two of Sunderland's relegation rivals making enquiries into the Premier League's disciplinary process. http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/fo...11363898966123 case closed surely and it funny nothing was said when it looked certain we go down ---------- Post added at 15:27 ---------- Previous post was at 14:50 ---------- Loic Remy is at the Arsenal game today |

Remy has the pace required and isn't exactly a bad footballer so yeah he would be decent signing but Arsenal need more. I'd be happy if he was part of bunch of top quality signings.

Doesn't regret not signing a striker in January. He didn't invite Remy today. If he had it his way both Sagna and Fabianski would sign new deals. And finally yes he will be at Arsenal next season. I have sympathy for him. There wasn't much on offer in January but last summer was a joke, no excuses. |

I think Liverpool's defence is still far too leaky. They can put goals away as much as they like but they're still too vulnerable to a side that wants it badly enough. |

Ramsey, Ozil and Wilshere. Yup there are numbers but so what. If the players want to win big then they need to sacrifice something. Look at Joses tactics, you cannot have it all, something has to give. On building a team. Depth. Thats building a team. Not 1 XI. And lastly Arsenal can afford it. |

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Quote:
I think we need to look at the squad now and see where we need to improve it and central midfield does not leap out at me as a weak spot. Instead the full backs need to be better. We may need more cover in central defence. I think we need a world class defensive/holding midfielder to rotate with Flamini or to accompany him for tougher games. We might need more pace on the wing as Walcott's injury, not Ramsey's, was the biggest blow as far as I am concerned. Ramsey was our best player but we did have cover there. Ozil was out as long and Cazorla is a pretty good player too. However Walcott's injury robbed the side of pace and teams felt fine playing a high line against us. Then we need two strikers. I want Fabregas back but I am just being realistic in that he doesn't solve any of the more pressing problems and if it weren't for the prospect of his possible departure we wouldn't be talking about central midfield at all. It's an emotional attachment to Fabregas that makes us want his return rather than any pressing need. Arsenal spent £42 million on Ozil. Would we play around £30 million for Fabregas in the same position? On top of our expected outlay for all the aforementioned positions. |
