i wouldnt mind itv hd and ch4 hd, means i can get champions league football in hd and also get to watch time team in hd. the people who will complain are the ones who want the sky hd channels and that wont happen anytime soon unless virign decided to pay over the odds for them sometihn in the lines ove rhte odds as sky wanted for the basics. ---------- Post added at 22:49 ---------- Previous post was at 22:46 ---------- Quote:
as for setanta forget hd for them, i would be mroe worried about losing the current channels from what i have heard they might go bust fairly soon (this does nto mean they will just there balance isnt the healthist but there a good chnce there investor will help out) and they would mostly likely close the channel unless someone takes them. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I never actually though about people wanting to watch the likes of channels 1-5 in hd (as in our house we don't watch these channels as there is nothing of value on them for us) and always put the fact people wanting them in hd to be quantity over quality so it's nice to have a different pov.
Thanks for the info on bbc alba too. |

Yes. I used to watch bbc hd on my old standered def tv via scart.
though the v+ box would remind you now and then that you are watching a hd channel via scart. But it wouldn't let you watch hd on demand programmes. |

Opening a new thread on the topic would be the best way to go, given the question you're asking (and provided you allowed enough latitude in the way that you phrase it - hint hint ;) ) I'm sure you'd stimulate a more than healthy debate.....if you get my meaning :)

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Hi StephenCFT, Don't take this the wrong way, but when l went to school, the word immenent, was today or tomorrow, not next week, It is like waiting for an interview result, they would say that word, Its today.
I used to run my own business many years, and if l told a customer something, l would tell them the truth, thats how l got my work, you tell them porkies and it went pear shaped, it your job on the line.:) |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Look up in a dictonary and the word immenent has various meanings, i agree with what you say arthur but be honest how many big ocmpanies do you know acutally tell the truth?

Imminent just means it's likely to happen soon, how soon is soon? Probably as long as a piece of string. |

And yes, I'm aware the chances of a Setanta HD channel are very very slim now, and that they may well disappear altogether, but I still remain hopeful. If they do survive the problems they're facing, then they'll need a HD channel at some point to compete with Sky Sports. |

After all how many times have we heard the Earth is in imminent danger of getting hit by a meteorite? or Swine Flu epidemic is imminent. Just relax people VM have promised 5 or so HD channels, they will get here very soon, and will announce them when the deals are completely finalised and all deals done. No point saying anything prematurely. |

But I see your point, and unfortunately despite being optimistic, I have my doubts about how soon we'll see these channels too. |
