Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Happy thought tinged with a moan. The inevitable happened yesterday, me and my manager had a screaming match with each other in the office car park. I've still got my job, which is the happy thought, but the moan is me losing my temper like that in front of her and my other co workers. Also, that it also probably means she will never let me work with her again after that.

Mark I'm pleased that you still have your job but please in the future remember you can always walk away from a argument/screaming match, while some might see this as being weak I like to see it as another option :) another thing is it never looks good for a man to shout at a woman IMO.

Mark, it could be seen that you are confusing personal (you asked her out, she refused) with work; it is inappropriate, in any workplace, to resort to raised voices - if from a manager, this could be seen as harassment or bullying, if from you, insubordination.

Can I advise that, in the future, if this sort of situation arises, you just say 'I'm sorry, but I need some time out to think about this, as you are upsetting me' and then leave the area.

We both said things that can't be taken back, I was fully expecting to be shifted to another job but wasn't. However she spoke to me three times today and the rest of the time blanked me, despite me trying to make amends and buying her a latter from Costa.

Yes hope it all goes well for both of you!

Osem Jnr. took his first maths class yesterday and it went very well according to his class tutor apparently. Osem Jnr # 2 is coming home from college on Friday and having never been away from us for this long before, he's going to get one hell of a welcome. :)

Well done. Did you do so earlier than you needed to?

I'm assuming you didn't get into further significant debt as a result of the celebrations... ;)
