Wife's home safe and sound. Bloody M25 caused the usual problems when it took me 90 mins to do about 2 miles FGS! Good job I only have to suffer it rarely.

I'm well acquainted with the road lately, especially the Heathrow and Gatwick junctions. Ugh. Sadly, we can't seem to find routes that avoid the M25 or Central London.

Lucky devil - our ceiling fan was going at full tilt but the Velux windows do a very good job of ventilating the upstairs so that helps.

Well done Mark on the weight loss.

Today is my pre-op assessment so fingers crossed it will not be to long till the operation itself, although I'm naturally nervous. I know it's a must as I can't cope with this pain level on a weekly basis (the sickness yes) but the pain itself is horrendous.

I know just how you feel Weenie. The pre-assessment will only be valid for a certain period of time (12 weeks IIRC) after which it will have to be re-done if the surgery hasn't taken place so they'll be keen to get on with it I imagine. I'm sure the nurse will be able to give you some idea of what the timescales are in your hospital. In my case, I also had to have a certain blood test in the week prior to surgery so that may need to be arranged for you too. Depending on how long it turns out to be, in your position I'd certainly contact the hospital periodically to see whether they've had any cancellations. That's exactly what I did. Hope it goes well. :hugs:

Good luck today weenie on your pre-op assessment and even more good luck for your operation when that happens as my thoughts and wishes are with you.

Well done Mark as its certainly easier to put on weight but much harder to lose weight and you have done well.

Well pre-op assessment went well although I have been told atm it is 12 weeks waiting time so that takes it up to 22nd of November :( I do hope it will be sooner as I have asked them to put in my notes that I will take any hospital and cancellation if one should become available. Quite honestly I do not care where I go to get this operation they could even remove it with a spoon for all I care just as long as I'm knocked out that is all I care about. The good news is they said it will be done and as a day patient all going well on the day so that's good as I would rather recover at home.

@ Osem they took my bloods yesterday so I don't know if that is a good thing, they also sent me for a ECG to trace my heart. Where I am slightly confused is I don't need to follow any diet before my op which I found strange as when speaking to others they needed to follow a diet whereas I don't for some reason. Any way I have plenty of reading as they sent me home with many booklets to read (laparoscopic cholecystectomy day case, day surgery information for patients, reducing your risk of blood clots and pre-operative fasting instructions and advice).

I did make a fool of myself by asking why is my legs getting measured for a gallbladder operation and the reply I got was for surgical stockings after that I decided not to ask any more questions as I felt quite silly for asking that question and at this point I decided the best option was to keep my mouth shut for a change :D
