If you go to the FAQ on the TruTv web site, it does state that it's available on Virgin Media, so hopefully this will appear in time for the launch at 1pm (why do I get the feeling as with other channel launches it will be the early hours of tomorrow!).

In that article it says that Liberty Global will be one of the first cablecos to carry AMC.

Perhaps AMC Networks may also launch Sundance and IFC, channels that shows arthouse films, too.

AMC also owns Chellomedia (now rebranded to AMC Networks Intertnational) which runs CBS Reality, CBS Drama etc in a joint venture with CBS/Viacom. Now that CBS/Viacom has almost bought Channel 5 and it runs a lot of channels in the UK, perhaps AMC may do a deal with CBS/Viacom to fully purchase some of the CBS branded channels to enable Sundance and/or IFC to launch.

AMC say they will also launch HD, VOD and tv everywhere versions of their channel.

And virgin media will say "no news at the moment" sounds like tru tv will be passing the buck.

Doesn't seem like it's going to launch anytime soon

What did BT say last August?

Talks must be going well if they have giving TruTV Virgin Channel 245.

Another article on the launch of AMC here. It looks like the MGM channel is being replaced by the AMC channel in the regions where Chello ran the MGM channel. However, in the UK the MGM channel was run in conjunction with BSkyB till its closure so there is no existing MGM channel here to be simply rebranded as AMC. http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2014/...ebrand-as-amc/

Also, CBS and Viacom are independent companies so should not be clumped together as a single entity.

I know they're separate companies, but they're owned by the same person and I can't really be bothered to check whether its CBS running something now or Viacom. It makes no difference either way, so I lump them together.

Re MGM channel, that's why I reminded those that don't know that AMC run and jointly own all those CBS channels.

CBS/Viacom own so many channels in the UK now with their impending buyout of Channel 5 adding a raft of new channels into their fold, that they might sell some of their CBS branded channels to AMC.

It does seem odd that VM haven't managed to aquire a channel(good or bad) that is free to air, what's to negotiate. Paying a premium to watch VM TV, I would expect them to get all of what is available on freeview.

The price that VM pays for the channel or the price that TruTV pays to be on the VM platform. Pretty crucial stuff and relevevant whether the channel is highbrow or lowbrow.

Conan O'Brien on Radio 2 at the moment, and they have just said that TruTV is launching on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media. I think they said the channel was 245 for Virgin.
