They've removed the registration page but they are doing the mass upgrades as I said.

Areas 20-31 upgrades (ex-ntl) for everyone - including those that didn't register - started today

:redcard: Now VM say that even those that didn't register will still be up-graded. :bsmack:

After I was told they wouldn't I spent hours talking around my friend. Convincing him that it wasn't a dastardly plot to get more money out of him and that VM did, once in a while, give us something for nothing. :banghead:

:D

Everyone regardless of registering or not was always going to upgraded to 10Mb M, the majority of those who preregistered got the upgrade in advance.

It only mentioned NTL upgrades, nothing as yet about Telewest.

It said 'we've already completely the uplift for the Knowsley platform' ;)

Re: Upgrade from 2 - 10 meg

This would explain the increase in complaints about capacity on Knowsley and why there's a resegmentation list as long as a Des O'Connor concert on there. :)

For the curious a while ago after merger a list of ports in need of resegmentation was produced for Knowsley, Langley and Bromley. Knowsley's initial estimate got laughed out of the place and they ended up doing 4 times as many capacity upgrades to resolve issues as they originally mooted. Telewest's idea of 'capacity planning' was somewhat 'interesting' and their idea of how to add capacity a bit of a bodge so as ntl:Telewest / VM were unravelling the mess it became clear more and more work needed to be done.

Ex-ntl's planning guidelines were more conservative and rather than the bodges they tended to pull the fibre and do the resegmentation instead. More scalable and permanent solution and also good for network health though far more time consuming and expensive. This meant, and it looks like it means that they take longer to deliver tier uplifts but they do it with less complaints ;)

I am on 2 MB using old NTL Home 100 Modem. When the update comes??? will this Modem be capable of running it? When will update happen?

http://www.speedtest.net/result/595944434.png shows 1.99 MB/s & 0.48 MB/s using Speedtest.net

I very much doubt it, as I was on a 120 modem and had mine upgraded after some confusion.

hmm according to my modem config it looks like Leicester (LE3) finally got upgraded (for me at least)...

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10242000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 514000

shame it looks a bit slow for 10mb?
