It though doesn;t take much for a plane to break up, just look at Concordski at the Paris air show all those years ago..

It is strange though to break up where it did (just forward of the tail section

It had hit the tail whilst on the ground at some point in the past.

Yep, same as the JAL flight that crashed but a lot of lessons were learnt from that crash.

Or in the main cabin, ISIS/IS/Daesh/Those psychotic medieval throwbacks has put pictures out showing what they claim was the bomb. Interestingly if true it was switch operated rather than timer / altimeter activated.

One of the reports came out today about the Air Asia 2014 crash I wonder who did the soldering??

Quote:

The soldering on a system that controlled the rudder was found to be cracked, causing it to send four warning signals to the pilots.

The crew tried to fix the problem by resetting the computer but this disabled the autopilot. They then lost control of the plane.

A guy a worked with on the program, he was doing NDT on the landing gear in a black walled room, plus the bit where they showed the companies that helped, including mine.

A brand new A350 self-aborted its take off from New York with a load of travel journalists on board.

http://thepointsguy.com/2015/12/abor...t-from-the-us/

Quote:

"As you can see in the video above, about 18 seconds after we began rolling down JFK’s runway 22R, the aircraft self-aborted, bringing us from more than 100 mph to a loud, screeching halt in roughly 15 seconds," he wrote.
"For a plane of this size and weight, stopping that quickly required a lot of force. To give you another idea of how abruptly we stopped, as you can see in the picture below, nearly all of the 200+ pillows and blankets landed on the floor, having previously been neatly arranged on each seat in economy.
"Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but some passengers (including myself) were quite shaken."

Airlander 10 has just got EASA and CAA permits to fly. Great to see this Hybrid Aircraft back in the skys over the UK after so much messing around when the US military bought it out and then abandoned it.

We're supporting it via the Airlander club and Crowdcube :)

I'm watching closely for it's ground and air test dates as Cardington is only a few miles north from me so will be ready with the camera

Another Egyptair flight looks like it's down. :(

An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo has disappeared from radar, the Egyptian airline says.
It says there are 56 passengers, seven crew members and three security personnel on board Flight MS804.
The Airbus A320 was flying at 37,000ft (11,300m) when it went missing over the eastern Mediterranean. An official said the plane lost contact with radar at 02:45 Cairo time (00:45 GMT).
