£225.00!!!!! checked on line and had a strop when I found that if we were allowed to renew on line I would have got a £71.00 discount but as John hadn't joined on line we were refused the option. Checked out the AA and the same cover as a new member with them was £149.00

Strop intensified and I phones up ready to do battle.

Got a lovely lady who listened to my complaint, put me on hold for a couple of minutes, then came back and ..... exactly the same cover for £111.00

Yes you cannot beat homecooked pies heero and we like our beef to cook slowly as it then becomes so tender when it is cooked slowly and the end result is delicious.

l thought this wonderful when our friend's told us last night.:D

He said to me that he was playing "Trivial Pursuit" with his wife. She asked me the question...."What were Rhett Butler's famous-last-words in the film "Gone With The Wind""? He replied..."Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" She said..."If you're going to be like that, I'm not playing!!"

Actually, I was a "common soldier" (well, airman), and if I/we had done that, the Soviet Union would have ruled Europe (whilst Capitalism has it's faults, we didn't have to build a wall across a country to keep people from escaping....).

I'm sure all of us commoners together could've made them see sense and reevaluate their position on encouraging them to do anything other than go home and if not we could've all just shot them on the way.

Is it wrong to hope that he did crash but the only injuries sustained were to his voice, thus depriving adolescent girls the pleasure of any new songs or live performances ever again.

Just a heads-up for anybody who hasn't submitted one and needs to: This is the last day you can do it (on-line) before the fines start to be dished out.

I may have to do this for the first time ever as i may go over the £10900 CGT limit, how difficult is a form like this to fill in for someone that has never had to do one before, just for the sake of the CGT?

There's an help system so if you don't understand a box there's a ? next to it for help. The only quirk in the form is that you need to leave (some) boxes blank rather than put £0.00 in. You can at any time save your return and come back to it later.

IIRC your CGT income is for the current tax year 2013-2014? so you don't yet need to fill in a form, in fact I don't think you can until the beginning of April (Lady day, 6th)

If you want to do it on-line you need to register with HMRC (www.hmrc.gov.uk) and setup a password etc. You'll also need your P60 or P45 (tax and NI paid) and if applicable your P11 (expenses reimbursed)

Thanks, yes my CGT is for the tax year 2013-2014 so i will do it after April 6th if i need to. I am actually hoping the shares drop in price 25 pence so i will avoid all this, i have 4 working days left for that to happen before the shares get sold!

Mind you it's my new monitor not going to get used as a TV set but it's nice to know it can do it all. It also also can read out all the menu stuff / guide stuff - it's pretty smart for sure.

Been having slight knee pain since I upped my training for the Llanelli half marathon. Not a bad pain, just a dull ache really but going on where it was made me think it was a MCL injury which can be pretty bad and lead to a lay-off of many months. Although it wasn't at that stage I didn't want to miss the Half so I've been off the road for 10 days to recover. Went along to the physio this morning as the ache hadn't gone away only to be told it's very unlikely to to be MCL, more a mechanical issue with my glutes which was a massive relief. I can keep on running and the Llanelli half in a month's time is still on - and planning a 9 miler for later today :)

That's fantastic SnoopZ, we got a whopping 1% after a pay freeze of 3 years .... but the conditions of the employer make up for that ... :)

At least someone has work. The whole sitting and waiting thing for the manager at that company is beginning to wear thin. Oh well. At least I have my health.

I would contest this as the royals seem to live quite a long time then there is the postcode lottery and nhs waiting lists if you have money you can bypass both. So I put it to you money can buy health in a fair few cases

:erm: fair point but is that not improving your health, if you have your health in the first place money cannot buy that ... ;)

anyone with good health can be struck down with something at any point if you have money you can treat it quicker or more effectively

Also you can have the best preventative care best food dietitians fitness instructions.

Another example I am out of shape I am working hard to get into shape if I won the lottery I could have liposuction and a tummy tuck and get a personal instructor so I would be buying better health

Of course if I was terminally ill or have untreatable conditions and had exhausted all avenues money can buy then you are right lol

No you would be buying what society/you thinks you should look like. A tummy tuck, liposuction and a personal instructor would not give you better health if you had an illness maybe you would feel better because of the new look you would have but you would still have ill health so therefore money cannot buy you good health ... ;)

I am happy to see the nights getting lighter, I am also happy with my IPAD Mini I received at Christmas. I missed this thread as I have not been on it for a while. Saying your happy makes you feel better.

After the last three days, starting work at 7am, going on the course at 9am - 4:30pm each day, and then working until 9pm or so at night to catch up on emails and help my colleagues, I am feeling quite old..... ;)

But on the bright side, I am going to a beer festival in Ilkley tomorrow evening, so that should 'relax' me a bit....:D
