Not so much regretting getting rid of Johnson, more in appointing Truss instead of Sunak.

Comes before markets open so they must be concerned still

What odds does she make it until the markets close (in Europe) on Friday?

Re: Liz Truss [Prime Minister]

Considering her very few then supporters claimed the markets were reacting to other factors than the mini budget it’d have been funny (if she had any left) them clamouring to give her credit for a marginal improvement in a dire situation.

1% tax cut gone, dividend tax cut gone, energy price cap will stop in April.

Re: Liz Truss [Prime Minister]

Energy support scheme being cut back to save £bns - price guarantee for households to only remain universal until April 2023. After that it will face some sort of means test. Ironically, Truss was only criticising Starmer in PMQs on Wednesday for advocating a six-month energy support scheme.

I think this may be the least popular measure announced today though, depending on how underlying energy prices work out.

That could prove disastrous. By means testing it the same families likely to not be covered will be those getting hammered by rising mortgage rates.

NICs, stamp duty cut & the abolition of the bankers' bonus cap has survived the Hunt apocalypse.

Was the reason that these weren't reversed due to their nearness to completion as legislation? think i saw something on the news.

I fail to see how Truss's position is even slightly tenable after this morning?

Lots of Tories already thinking they have no chance of winning the next GE

my political immaturity would suggest, call a GE now, let whoever deal with he mess and probably fail then come back in five years to try and get another go
