It's not technically churn if you cancel before you're actually connected :p:

Given the offer(s) they made to you and myself (£50 credit, £60 cashback, £15 off for 3 months) and the fact once I'd joined they refused to admit the deal and didn't seem the slightest bit phased I was going to cancel under the 28-day satisfaction guarantee, looks like they're more terrified of losing acquisitions than churn.

hi,
ordered xl30 over phone. lady in india pretty good explained tech will do install next tues.
she said it will be a new 12 mnth contract.

not sure how they decide if a tech is needed as i think my bb is fine, saves waiting for the hub being delivered.

£30 on next bill & £1.50 reduction each month.

have activation number to call i guess after the tech has left to get the modem updated.

I doubt there will be many of them at all though. I think TC was just being silly again though with his post.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade

I received a letter yesterday from Virgin offering a free upgrade to 30Mb from 20mB with a one off charge of £30 but when I called I was told it would cost an extra £4 per month because of a promotional deal I signed up for when I upgraded my TV 3 months ago. Surely this just affects the TV - I don't understand why this affects the whole package.:mad:

I understand that but how will it affect an existing 20Mbit XL customer stuck on a single downstream? I'm not saying you are wrong I'd just like to know a bit more :)

I won't be moving until the SuperHub can be changed back into a modem.

I will have to wait but I know that it has been ordered.

so now its a Activation/delivery charge you need to make your mind up.

If it was a delivery charge i shouldn't be paying because there will be someone installing mine!

I don't think even Virgin no what to call it anymore. :)

For those getting a £1.50 reduction in broadband cost, how much was you paying for your broadband originally before the reduction?

This is now in the realms of fantasy, are you taking something rather exotic in order for your mind to work in such a strange place.https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2011/06/21.gif

If you do not have a Superhub and you want to upgrade to 30Mb then they will ask for £30 of you for Activation and it will also pay towards the cost of the courier unless you are having a free manned install, either way we have to pay £30 to get the upgrade to 30Mb if we only have a standard modem or hub.

so if you do have a superhub it will be £20 activation as the 50Mb is now.
and £10 to help with the post or for the installer to visit you
now that makes more sense.

If you have read my post in the link below you do not need to pay if on 20Mb with a Superhub.
