Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
VIP was £85 when it launched 4 years ago. Has stuff really gone up that much?

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
IMHO I would say it'd be much easier to just have a VIP package, and not a VIP20 and VIP50, especially now as the prices are so close it really makes no difference. A VIP package with everything included in it. Simples!

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Depends when you took out VIP20. People on it before April 2010 had a rise that those after didn't
Same happened on VIP50, but that was then reversed when the Sky Premium HD channels were added |

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I'm currently paying £95.74 for a VIP20 package ( £66.24 for main services £29.50 for Movies 4+5,Sports 1+2).
I've had this package for a while and given the close proximity of various prices these days I am considering a change. When Virgin briefly stopped broadcasting the Sky Channels I bought a 2 pack package from Sky with a standard box which now costs £20 per month. Sky are offering a good package of all 6 entertainment packs plus sports and movies for £52 plus I may be able to get a free Sky+ box. I'd like to drop Talk Mobile,Talk International and the Movie & Sports packages from VIP20 and like to upgrade my Broadband to 50Mb but want to retain everything else. In this way I hope to improve my Sky and Virgin Services but at a slightly lower cost. The only problem is that I get a Phone,TV and BB discount and a Set Box discount but don't know if this will apply outside the VIP package and what the new monthly cost will be. I don't really want to approach customer services yet until I'm clear what the costs would be as though my monthly outgoings may be lower there will probably be some installation charges which I will have to budget for once I know what they are. Can anybody help please? |

You would need to speak to Customer Services. What you will end up paying when you downgrade can be even more complicated than upgrading!

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Just ordered VIP 50, contract came through yesterday.
The only extras I have are: Second box is V+ ( additional £6.50) Caller Display ( £2.05) Soooooo if VIP50 is 100.55 + 8.55 = £109.10 But contract states £ 109.45 !! PLUS Is this price from April or existing ? Hate to ask Ben but if you could help......... |
Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
If your second box is a V+ HD then that's + £10.
So current VIP 50 is £97.40 + £2.05 + £10 = £109.45 Price is pre April So post April it will be £100.55 + £10 + £2.05 = £112.60 |
Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Thanks Ben - you're a star.
What puzzles me though, is that I'm currently paying £ 15.00 less discount of £ 9.40 ( £5.60 ) for my second V+ box, and if you use VM's package builder, the additional cost for a second V+ from April is £6.50.?? Thanks again for a quick reply |
Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
The additional boxes go up by 90p in April, that's factored into the total price (and stated increase) of VIP 50

I can understand that my Additional V+ box will go from £5.60 to £6.50 But how come the £10.00 as your first post. Same box I've now got. No mention of £ 10.00 on package builder. |
