Yes we have had on demand movies from Sky for quiet some time in my package.

When it started, xl customers that didn't have sky movies were able watch some on demand hd sky movies mostly kids animation films such as brave etc.

The next development I am waiting for from Virgin is Amazon Prime. Does anyone have any information about this? If I have to wait much longer, I am definitely going to get a Fire TV box because there is stuff on there I really want to see.

However, if it's coming to Virgin in the fairly near future, I'll hold off for the time being.

Tivo in the US have started updating the Premier boxes with the Prime app. That should make it technically possible to add Prime in the UK to Tivo at some stage in the future.

as far as I know 4od does not allow you at all to skip through commercial on IOS apple, is that the same on VM catch up service?

Commercials will always be tehre, take for instance Youtube which forces you to see something for at least 5 seconds before you can skip or spotify free version which makes you listen to advertisments, recording a linear broadcast is the only way around it.

I cant comment on Netflix/Amazon on whether they do or how as I dont have the service but im sure on sky movies they put adverts at the beginning even though its a paid service

No ads on Netflix/Prime (yet), Sky has ads at the start and end of movies (skippable) but not during.

Amazon are slowly rolling out a ad funded free version of instant video that will be cut down quite a bit i wonder if this is the version vm will get.
