Yet another crash at an airshow. A hawker Hunter has crashed onto several vehicles on the A27 just outside of Shoreham Airport where the airshow was being held

Airshows should be banned as I think there is a high % of crashes at them.

You might as well ban any motorsports, motor vehicles, air transport, bicycles and even walking as all of them are a lot more dangerous to the population than airshows

This is a terrible tragedy and my condolences go to all those involved.

However, if we set about banning stuff which isn't essential, there's an awful lot of far more dangerous pursuits we could start with.

How many airshows actually happen in the UK?

I don't really think there is a high percentage of accidents.

RIP all those poor folk, but also if it had hit the other side of the road the death toll would have been far higher.

I work for a company that repairs & overhauls components for various aircraft Sally 'B' & XH558 to name a few

Some of these aircraft are vital for people like me, I control the Technical Library with some 4,000 manuals.

These aircraft all all regulated and every last piece can be traced back to the date of manufacturer.

If you go down the 'Ban' route you might as well ground several major aircraft types.

A real tragedy for a well run and popular air show. RIP those concerned.

Closing the A27 will gridlock the entire area as apart from the single carriageway Norfolk bridge to the south (A259) this is the only river crossing on the Adur for miles.

BTW the telephoto long distance coverage of the crash site is from Mill Hill. A superb vantage point to watch the show.

Leading aerobatic teams are performing spectacular, complex stunts for thousands of spectators at the “MAKS-2015 International Aviation and Space Salon” air show in the city of Zhukovsky near Moscow. The show, which has brought together more than 700 companies from over 20 states, including Russia's leading arms and space corporations, kicked off on August 25 and runs through August 30.

A BA 777 caught fire whilst on the runway at Las Vegas, all evacuated OK with only 14 injuries.

What does get me though is the idiots who thought it was a good idea to rescue their hand luggage :( Do they not realise that a few extra seconds could have cost not only their own lives but many others :(
