If Moyes had experience of managing a club the size of United or a history of winning trophies I'd be more inclined to agree. Had he got us to finals but United lost, or managed a decent top 4 position then I'd say he should be given more time and a good transfer budget to show what he could do.

I did go to the Oldham v Coventry game yesterday, it made me realise that even after this seasons performances my United season ticket is still well worth paying for, it was a dire match.

Biggest single mistake made by Moyes was to clear out the coaching staff and radically alter training methods.

Yep, said this time and time again, this isn't the 80's anymore, you simply cannot afford to give managers the time Ferguson did especially given you've just taken over what now is a footballing powerhouse.

True but being a director (non-executive I believe) means any decision/suggestion he now makes has to be ok'd by the rest of the board.

I know most wanted us to get battered, and I'm sorry we let you down. Not the most exciting match, but hey ho. You should have seen us in the late 70's and the early and late 80's. I don't have a problem with how we set up tonight. Of course I'd love us to play open and free flowing football all the time, but I've seen Atletico dominate and batter better teams than us this season. Depends on injuries now. Cech's dislocated his shoulder so that's his season over. Don't know how bad Terry is, but Ivanovic and Matic are back so we'll have to wait and see. I don't know if Hazard will be risked either, that's if he's fit. I thought Cole did well tonight as well. Considering he's not played since the end of January. I wouldn't mind him at Arsenal too!

You can say your prayers before you go to bed every night and hope for deliverance Sir.:)

Sanchez is going to be in demand. Morata will probably end up at Dortmund. Arsenal have Sanogo as a young prospect. Its long overdue at Arsenal for big money super quality signings.

You said that last year and at least Ozil came along.:)

Need more this summer. Much more. The impact Ozil has had on and off the field in his first season when he isn't at his best just proves what this squad has been crying out for.

Manchester United are convinced a £30m deal to buy Luke Shaw on a £100,000 a-week salary is virtually complete in what is viewed as a major coup over Chelsea, with the sacked David Moyes largely responsible for convincing the Southampton left-back to spurn the club he supports.

I was about to say 'poor' old Southampton but they are going to be quids in after this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal go for Schneiderlin.

I've heard that too. I can't take it seriously but I'm in 2 minds: given how much I can't stand Arsenal I think it would be awesome but knowing my luck Moyes would take them to the Quadruple in his first season.

Oh I know that but it wouldn't be the first time an Old Trafford failure went on to do better elsewhere. Remember the original 'donkey', Diego Forlan? Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo (although gave us a good result once against the scousers) but then couldn't stop scoring for Villarreal and A Madrid. Perhaps Moyes could be the one to finally end Arsenal's 10 year trophy drought?

Local residents raised concerns about any expansion in 2012 because it would involve the demolition of some houses near the ground. The club said that discussions with local property owners were "progressing well" and all parties are close to agreement but added details were still to be finalised.

Sorry Gary but l think they do need a big name manager who can put a end to the players ruling the roost at OT and who can rebuild the side from the current debris.
