I'm thinking of giving the 6E to my dad. I have a Nvidia shield so allowing family to use my devices is kind of like safe keeping :tu:

I wonder what stock levels are like of the remaining android based 4k max sticks.

Many were concerned Amazon would push vega os to all its models

Do you use and pay for an IPTV service on it? I'm about to venture into that area as I've done my research and will give it ago, I'm not planning on getting it from a reseller I'm going direct to a source and will sort it myself.

As far as I can see, the only advantage firesticks ever had was their size.
I dumped them for android boxes many years ago.

Main issue with Android boxes is dodgy payloads at a firmware level . What boxes do you have out of interest? I spent a lot of time in the streaming community with kodi iptv and boxes and a lot of them were found to have malware. Linus Tech Tips did a lot of research on it a couple of years ago|

Their market share will plummet I imagine once none Vega devices become obsolete and unavailable

where you gonna find one of them ? I do not think I have ever found someone who was not a restreamer or reseller. I got quite close one and was offered a panel and a lot of tokens/credits for a stupidly silly cheap price but do not want the hassle of having to keep finding new clients. If you find one let me know hahaa

Yes. I have a provider. I've found one that doesn't run away. I've been with them ever since streaming started.

Had a few of the A95X go through my hands at one point. Had a Mi box too that was quite decent :-)

I actually see a possibility of Kodi making a come back if people switch to mini pcs instead of android boxes they are not much more if you buy a refurb mini pc and it will do more and you can access the same scrapers the apks access for links so we might see Kodi back and a return of Fanriffic hahaha

remains to be seen if Vega will get cracked yet. I believe there will be an app store which means devs get the sdk it is just getting them on the device. Who knows

might actually be able to use the term Jailbreak properly on a fire device at last hahaha

Vega SDK no use until it is Jailbroken of course

Hehe.

I've just setup my first IPTV on a Firestick, I've never done it before and I'm not buying from a reseller so I've bought a month direct from my source website(strong8k.org) and also purchased lifetime Tivimate premium. I'm still learning to set it up so I need to see how it goes or whether there are better options out there.

smarters is generally a well liked and often cloned app that works well with subs. Your supplier may have a clone for it
What makes you think they are not a reseller?

I use OTT Navigator by Scillarium Studio. It's finely tuned. Mod from https://platinmods.com/

When I was looking into IPTV there were a lot of comments saying go here message a guy bla bla bla and then I saw some replies saying cut out the middle man and go direct to source, so Strong came up a few times so I decided to give it ago.

Thanks for the info.

I already pay for Formula 1 TV Pro from USA via my VPN to get around the UK restrictions, but I also get F1 via this IPTV service so I may as well cancel getting it the legit way as it's the same cost but get alot of live TV too.

I'm very new to this so still learning, but as far as I know I'm not relying on some random guy to sort it for me.

Carrots from Aldi. The "wonky" ones were less than 1/2" thick and about 6" long, so I got their "normal" ones that were a little fatter but the same length.

You haven't gone to source. I've tested a similar playlist. The quality is schoolboy. I'm getting buffers, skips which is amateur. The playlist is all over the place too. I took a trial intrigued what you had found. No good in my opinion.

I'd suggest keeping the back up. You may well need it because strong will prove unwatchable.

I can tell you're new to this. You've opted for an overhyped provider.

I've tested various other providers because I wanted a backup but they have all proved to be shit. I have another backup but it's invites only, a closed community. That's when you know you have source none of these silly resellers.

Jaymoss 03-10-2025 15:16

Re: What have you just bought?

I have not seen any buffering in the little test I run. What client did you test it on? I used Smarters on my PC. I like the Raw HVEC 4K and HD options also . I think just running on an xtream codes panel like 99.9 % of all the others

thenry 03-10-2025 17:24

Re: What have you just bought?

Nvidia Shield, OTT Navigator, XC. MTV hits is ok, streaming really well in fact. MTV music has a mind of it's own. Sky Sports News ok. F1 4k starts playing up after a while.

A source would prove it's their stream through a marker.

SnoopZ 03-10-2025 17:29

Re: What have you just bought?

I've not had any buffering with Strong so far everything has been fantastic for me.

I did some research with people suggesting things like no need to go with a reseller and Strong came up a few times with that, so I've taken a punt and it's fantastic in my short time of testing.

If it does go dodgy like in your experience I'll try another and use BeeTV again.

I will let you know how it all goes but I've got no reference point as to what is good or bad to work from.

What is good so far for me is if I select a TV or Movie it seems to look and play great and also works with subtitles via VLC without issue.

Trying Live TV is a learning curve for me, it took me a while to find some UK shows in the Tivimate TV Guide from the 1000 of stations so I know I have to organise those.

Reference points would be zap times. Buffers. Downtime. Skips.

I liked how large the playlist was. I also liked the fact Italy was working. Recent raids mean the likes of Italy, Netherlands, BeIn were down for other providers. I think I was too rash yesterday sorry. I just got annoyed seeing yet another provider with a similar playlist to others.

This is because like I have repeated they are all using the same xtream code reseller credit panels . You imagine the bandwidth and server space and equipment to receive and then restream global tv is required to stream literally 1000s of channels 24 hours a day and the bandwidth required to serve all the connections and then there is the cost . How many of these server farms for illegal streaming do you think there are globally ? In the days of card sharing it was a lot easier and cheaper to set up so there were more unique providers iptv is a totally different story

No offence taken I was just happy I was able to sort this out myself as previously I thought it was done by contacting a dodgy guy down the pub.

I'm still learning just need to sort the TV guide out so it's trial and error but it definitely bye bye Virgin Media TV as there is no point in me paying for that especially as I hardly ever use it.

If you want a hobby buy yourself an engima 2 based box build your own bouquets on it and build your own epg. None of it costs a lot. I used to own a Mut@nt HD2 box threw a 120GB ssd in it to record . Set it up for freesat and put and iptv sub on it too. That was time consuming but fun (well for me anyway) and then of course you can record and pause live tv . If you sub allows multi screen you can pay for the second and record and watch live tv like on the first gen hd sat boxes cuz of course you lose all the on demand channels with iptv over VM/Sky so recording becomes a thing again . There is a lot of fun to be had

Surely they will discontinue the older model like they previously have? That's my guess anyway.

Btw I've settled for Tivimate as my IPTV guide, once I start hiding the stuff I don't want it s but ms to work better and the other one is slower and kept crashing on my Fire sticks.

doing that would kill their sales in that kind of product . Lets be real the majority either already own on or will want one to access illicit material. It is still I linux operating same as the android based devices. I dunno if we will see vega jailbroken but they never thought IOS would be crack able but that did not last long. We will see though . A replacement gas hob (Beko £119) and a new fan oven (Logik £159) from Currys.

Delivery and fitting of the gas hob added on another £140, no option to collect from their local store.

There were slightly cheaper places, but none offered the gas hob installation below £200!!!

Topcashback would have given 3% cashback and you could have bought with Currys gift cards that would have given you a further 5% saving, just something to consider for everyone. (I feel like an Everup saleman but the app really works).

Re: What have you just bought?

I brought some hair clippers on eBay 2 years ago which had a 3 year care package on it. Today I decided to give a replacement a go because I had brought a better lithium clipper. At Argos the lovely lady checks out the terms and says pick something so I thought she would swap it over to something better so I picked out a lithium clipper. She says ok, goes back to the till and says I'll refund the return then open a new purchase. Nope

Returned clipper https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7996...gyMTExNDc4NDQy

Lithium https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7727...gyMTExNDc4NDQy

I did try sweet talk her into giving me the lithium clipper but she politely declined. Oh well I got a refund which I shouldn't have got to be honest. The care pack was for a replacement or Argos vouchers. She put it back on my card happy days.

My weekly £50 Tesco Gift Card from the EVERUP app to go towards my weekly groceries, this time I used the cashback stored in the app to get it for £46.76, the whole process takes around 30 seconds and in doing so earned another £2.55 cashback for next week.

I wish the app allowed Amazon as an option!

New gas hob and electric oven. The hob cost £120 to fit, the oven I did myself in minutes.

BUT...

Currys sent a black hob and not the stainless steel one I ordered, hopefully they will be back to fit the correct one next week.

Did you know that electric ovens don't come with any mains cable these days?

Mine come with a short on the earth. My friend was a sparky and installed it and it just kept tripping . Called Appliances Direct told them they sent a guy out from Domestic and General started stripping the oven down I said test the earth he refused tried to find a reason to blame me. Eventually he finished I said what is wrong he said a fault on the earth. I smiled and thought what a dick and I got a replacement installed at their cost. A short period of time later I got a letter of D & G asking me for payment saying it was my fault. I called and told them no and have the engineers report to prove it . I wonder how many get ripped off and pay without thinking

My son solved the problem of parking, he got me to drop him off and pick him up and left his car on his drive
