What I've not seen mentioned is what happens to AMC from BT. I suspect this may end.

Can't see AMC renewing that , BT deal with Disney for ESPN brand and content which i think is up this year, can't see Disney renewing that

this was revealed in February.

Then, today, it was revealed by Helison Medeiros, who has previously revealed many hidden secrets found in the Disney+ code, that a new ESPN event link was added to the Disney+ sitemap. Currently, the link doesn’t work, but it’s a recent addition, showing that something is brewing over at Disney Streaming.

What’s interesting about this event link being added, is that it follows a similar system to how live events are handled on Star+ in Latin America. Star+ is a hybrid between ESPN+ and the Star brand on Disney+, which includes live sports along with general entertainment from Disney’s studios like FX, 20th Century Studios and ABC.

Agreed on discontinuing the ESPN brand. ESPN may still choose to continue to licence live feeds to the new joint venture after this year, though.

Looks like you're correct

BT Sport ESPN to become BT Sport 4, though a "continued relationship" will continue.

However, Jamie Hindhaugh, chief operating officer, BT Sport, said that one change would be the use of the licensed ESPN branding. The dedicated channel will now be known as BT Sport 4 though Hindhaugh promised a “continued relationship” with the Disney-owned sports network.

Guess we will see a ESPN brand on Disney+ at some point

That's good as there's lots of excellent ESPN content on BT Sport, both magazine shows and documentaries.

Freesport encrypted their Sky feed today - so I wonder if they plan to put some on there.

Thanks for info Ozsat.

I did see rumour somewhere last year that FreeSports was set to become known as Premer Sports 3.

Maybe Boxnation will be axe or become Premier Sports 4?

It is encrypted at a level that no sub/card is required but can only be viewed on a Sky box.

Sorry, mate, but that sounds obsessive and a desperate a point to try to prove something that is unprovable.

If you want to think that, it’s certainly fine by me.

Bless. You take care, OK?

I’m not sure what’s “unprovable” that a linear broadcaster just won rights despite the often asserted claim that it’s inevitable that a “deep pockets” streamer will hoover them all up.

I can still view Freesports via Manual Tuning on my Freesat box. I'm doing so as I type this.

Either the change was made to a different feed, there is an Irish Ad version I believe, or it's changed back to FTA.

That doesn’t mean everything’s remaining on linear, though, does it?
