Imminent surprise = Virgin Media rebranding exercise concentrates on rebranding the now obsolete phrase "Coming Soon" with a more apt "MWAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA"

Hi Andy, At the time, the salesman was so good, l fell for it, this was sometime ago. And l have learn't my lesson the hard way, why do you think, l keep on moaning about VM, the promises they have made me, the problem is, they keep on telling me also about HD, and yes, they did say '1500' and as l said, l have learn't my lesson, l let my wife deal with salesman now.:)

If l am not wrong ' imminent' means, NOW, or ANYTIME NOW. I wouldn't hold your breath too long, you will end up dead.

It means:

imminent - '''adj. impending, approaching, coming.''

Just to let everyone know:

Q: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION ABOUT VIRGIN MEDIA FROM?

A: I get all my info from Virgin Media workers (NOTE: I called them Virgin Media Insider), Virgin Media viewers and Web Sites (NOTE: When I used web sites I will say ''Info from WEB SITE NAME'').

The surprise will be a topless Richard Branson popping out of a birthday cake to announce the new free HD lineup on VM, at least one of which will be exclusive. :)

Just got off the phone to customer services about cancelling tv service. She said there are more sd channels on their way, major improvements to the tv platform and hd. Asked her when, she said couldn't say much, but something will be happening this week regarding hd! this could of course be all lies to try and keep me who knows?;)

I'd go with lies or if I was being kind, I'd say they are misinformed. Sky is the only platform if you want HD as much as I don't like saying.

I'd really like to have HD on Virgin as they are very competitive and cable *should* be better than Sky technically (two way cable etc, on demand etc etc).

Two way cable

Does that mean if the television was equipped with a camera thay could effectively watch what you were doing?

They could then see your disappointment at the lack of HD.

No, it means that your cable set-top box can both send and receive data at high bandwidth. A Sky box cannot do this - it receives TV from the satellite but can only send anything back if you connect it to the phone line, and even then it can only send at dial-up speeds.

The two-way, high-bandwidth cable connection between your home and Virgin Media allows them to deliver far superior interactive services compared to anything Sky's platform is capable of. Whether they are actually making as much of this as they should be is another discussion entirely!

Sky aren't the only option. Virgin has a HD STB and some HD content that will soon increase when the 5 or so new channels are announced.

You're such a tease. ;) Give us a hint as to the release month - is it's first letter a J?
