Out of the box the TV was so light it felt like a cheap toy but actually looks good and after spending sometime messing with the picture settings as everything seemed too bright the picture and sound seem pretty good compared to my old 20 year old 32in Samsung, so over all it's exceeded my expectations for such a cheap bedroom TV.

Daveeb already guessed the brand correctly, it's Hisense 40A5NQTUK and a brand I would never consider buying for the living room but at £209 for a QLED it seems great in the bedroom, I also got 3 months Apple TV with it because I bought it from Currys which I have just managed to eventually redeem after it complained I'd had too many free trials so had to make a new account. Ultimately I couldn't be happier with how this bottom of the barrel brand looks and performs.

Downstairs I've got an expensive top of the range Mini Led so I wanted something better than a 20 year old 32in in the bedroom.

Well it's not dated it has a c port very nice. Personally I'd feel horrible without 4k. I did however purchase two Asus FHD monitors some weeks ago for an office setup. I guess what you're connecting takes priority.

40in TV in the bedroom is the max size I was happy to go to, so 1080p on this is perfectly acceptable for it's usage which will only be streaming apps so that'll be paid Amazon Prime, trials of Apple TV once in a blue moon and then my dodgy BeeTV app which is awesome as it gives me any movie or TV show in great quality and seems to be very reliable, I have no interest in live TV broadcasts, so all this is via an Amazon 4K firestick so don't even have to visit the naff TV interface but from my short tests even that seems ok with the built in apps.

Otex Express Ear Drops £4.15 in superdrug
https://www.otexear.com/products/ote...ess-ear-drops/

On Saturday I got out the shower to blockage in my right ear. I know I shouldn't but I had to do something so I stuck an ear bud in to clear or move ear wax around which did relieve and clear the blockage. Now I'm on these ear drops for 3-4 days. I'll be treating both ears so 6-8 days one at a time.

Clear hearing is scary  I got frightened by the sound of my shorts brushing

NZB.... Brings back memories when I used to download stuff, now I either stream legitimately or use BeeTV I don't need anything else currently.

Did you give up with KODI? BeeTV stopped me messing with that as it seems so dated.

I have not given up on it per se . I am currently looking at jellyfin as media server and kodi works as a client as well as many other options so I dunno where I will go next. I am no longer theming Kodi but I must say for a while I made a fortune selling custom branded kodi builds do device sellers in the US

I was going to mention Nord and ask what you have SnoopZ. I'd like to know too Hugh :)

I've turned auto-renewal off in my Nord account. When my subscription expires the offers on Nord itself show up not needing the silly renewal price. Basic Nord £65 27 months.

Nord rocks this world the best VPN I've had my hands on.

You should resubscribe to Nord via Topcashback you get it for peanuts very often, currently it's only 34% off but if you check weekly it spikes to 80% plus if I remember.

Edit

They gave 100% cashback on Quidco 3 weeks ago.

I got it through Quidco only paying the VAT after cashback. I prefer Quidco but both match each others rates so not much lost. I'm intrigued of your Tesco gift card so may give topcashback a go. Do I need the premium topcashback account type or does it apply to basic accounts?

I still think just choosing 1 server and the unlimited offer with Windscribe is hard to beat $2 a month paid monthly so you do not notice it coming out the bank

Primarily I needed Nord for Formula 1 TV Pro to watch the races live and I knew this VPN worked as alot don't is why I went for it.

If I am honest I didn't really notice it coming out my bank but I know everyones circumstances are different. I've got until June 2026 before my Nord expires to look at alternatives that give me the servers I would need like Nigeria, Argentina, Columbia etc.

Very likely because it works with everything I've used it for without issue.

Technically a New subscriber is likely someone's existing sub that's expired, if that doesn't work I'd use the same Gmail email and place period somewhere in it as that email is then seen as a new email.

P.S Quidco currently do 95% off Nord.

Lol I used to live in Argentina for a Tidal subscription, then they stopped that because the payment method had to originate there, then I moved to Columbia and the sub costs me around £2.50 a month, Nigeria is cheap but can't be arsed to change.

I highly recommend a Revolut account, these virtual debit cards get around alot of payment issues.

My GP won't allow that. It's strictly 8:30am or nothing. It's not a follow up neither so no chance of a doctor giving a callback :(

Monthly free cash is always good.

It took 5mins to track but I've already sent it to my bank.

I'm starting to think maybe I should buy a £50 Tesco Gift card every week and pay part of my shopping with it because it would payout £1.25 cashback at 2.5% every week, surely that's a no brainer move?

B&M still do offers that we may of seen before Russia blockade unlike everyone else who reckon an extra 25p on top of the already inflated price won't be noticed :dunce: like a share bag of Cadbury buttons, £1 it used to be everywhere then they upped the sale price to £1.35 now it's £1.65 or something stupid. Quidco have £7.50 bonus on £15 spend on AliExpress so I've ordered 2 ugreen usb extension cables, one type c and one 3.0 usb a. £16.84 - £7.50 = £9.34 - a possible 15% cashback = £7.93. Not bad.

Hmm.. it's tracked and says £1.97 cashback. I'm not sure whether £7.50 will pay out because they don't calculate VAT. In my activity purchase amounts £3.64 and £9.50 which isn't £15

Quote:

Cashback is not paid on VAT, delivery charges and any other additional fees, although occasionally some retailers may pay cashback on the full basket amount. When a minimum spend threshold is required to be eligible for cashback, retailers do not count VAT and fees in the total spend amount.

Checkout Everup it seems legit and it pays 5.1% on Tesco Gift Cards, just bought a £10 gift card to test it and that has now been added to Google Wallet and I now have 51p cashback in the app, can't cash out until it gets to £1 so I will do the same again tomorrow, but from reviews it all seems legit, so if this works I will do this for gift cards in future.

It came up on HotUKDeals yesterday, it connected directly to my bank so no bank card needed, not sure if that's a good or bad thing but it was super easy.

Asda pays 4.8% there, Morrisons 6%, Waitrose 5.5%, Sainsbury's 5% etc.

Tesco still pays points when spending Gift Cards so that's on top of the 5.1% from Everup.

Tested them with Deliveroo (for later ordering) and it worked fine.

If anyone wants a referral code for Everup give me a shout, for 2 referrals I get £5 and 5m coins to play on their spin games(the spin games don't take real money to play), not sure if the other person gets a benefit though.

Cash out from Everup options, so the best option is to redeem by buying more gift cards.

No, just a weekly gift card addict with a good % return. Lol

So if I buy £100,000 of Tesco Gift Cards I save £5,100. :D

All I need now is to actually have £100,000 to spend so my plan is scuppered already!

You can expect that bonus every month around 25th.

The Everup app I posted is paying 8.1% discount at B&M, you should check it out if you haven't already, it's a doddle to use.

Sorry I honestly can't remember even though I did it last week, it was likely address information and then I verified my mobile number. Paul also did it so maybe he remembers.

I would suggest trying and see what happens, because this is a game changer app for discounts that really works, you don't buy with a credit card it connects to your bank app but don't let that scare you.

I really hate parking under trees, it's either tree sap that pisses me off or leaves but luckily I can avoid it and just need to avoid the tree in works car park.

Our drive is overshadowed by a council street tree, a Hornbeam, that is host to bl**dy billions of aphids for the majority of the year unless weather kills them off. Their honeydew coats any car that is close to the tree. Even the leaves on my plants get drenched.

So I tend to use a cheap car cover during the worst periods.

But autumn sees tons (and I mean TONS), of leaves dropping into our garden, just as the council used to stop collecting garden waste. I was warned not to make leaf mould with any of it as the leaves will be coated in "toxic residue from car exhausts". What the council collects all goes to landfill.

Loads of leaves collect in the car's scuttle, and if that gets blocked, all manner of faults can occur.

:(

Ah this is why I love Quidco. It sorted itself out. £16.84 - £7.50 - £1.42 - £0.55 = £7.37 for both usb extension cables.

£10 bonus on any spend through Quidco, that's a free gift card of £10 + £0.40 cashback which might change, it's still processing.

Basically the same as Topcashback then.

Are you going to try Everup? it's a no brainer to save alot more on giftcards in my opinion.

Just renewed my Buildings and Contents insurance for £135, £2 cheaper than last year, I was trying to do it through Go Compare through Topcashback to get the £40 cashback but the quotes not as good as the renewal surprisingly so didn't.

Another £7.50 bonus on Quidco £15 spend + 11.2% cashback on AliExpress. I brought disposable air fryer liners, wristbands, a Pixel 6 Pro case and these laundry washing balls that apparently work in the washing machine  we'll see I guess.

£20.23 - £7.50 - £1.10 - £0.17 - £0.21 - £0.34 = £10.91 bargain :D

I'm stocked up on an Amazon Fire stick Max,even though I don't need it this version of hardware allows me to side load my BeeTV app and it's on offer at £40 from Amazon.

From 14th October future versions of Fire sticks won't allow side loading because they will use a different Operating System.

Yes

I brought a 4k Max 6E 2nd generation yesterday with a pro remote. My aunty has my 4K max 1st generation stick which she rarely uses but I'm happy even if she uses in once in a blue moon. I'm thinking of giving the 6E to my dad. I have a Nvidia shield so allowing family to use my devices is kind of like safe keeping :tu:

I wonder what stock levels are like of the remaining android based 4k max sticks.

Many were concerned Amazon would push vega os to all its models

Bad time to buy Prime Day next week unless it was an early deal ?

I do not think Vega will be backwards compatible tbh but even if it is someone will code apps for it unless they lock it down tight. If they do sales will plummet and people will just use cheap android boxes . Just need to find a brand thats been tested for malware

TBH a couple of weeks ago I bought a refurb mini PC for very little outlay which would be an option then also . Who know Kodi might get popular again if something like this happens and I can go back to being a Dev hahahaa

I've dodged that bullet ever since joining Amazon, the prime nonsense. I should have said sorry I purchased the 4k max 6e 2nd generation on vinted. With the pro remote £15 + postage £3.15. the seller couldn't get his head around the fire stick so gave up. Good as new I think.

There are things to do that stops Amazons blacklisting. I have not done anything with mine except use it to test Plex and watch its normal apps but downloader is still available so any other APK can be installed as long as blacklisting is disabled. All addons like livenet beetv cinemahd and so on are scraper apps so basically all the do is hunt known hosting sites for links and plays them so they are all pretty much the same as long as kept up to date.

Their loss.
People will just start using android TV boxes instead.
As far as I can see, the only advantage firesticks ever had was their size.
I dumped them for android boxes many years ago.
