Yep, and apparently it is now a straight fight between me and another girl on work placement as to who will get a permanent spot. I feel that we both are actually just as good, and as they have around 5 permanent slots to fill that could bode well for us. But we also have 6 seasonal staff and another 2 work placement people coming in who will be fighting it out for those slots as well.

So I need to get my head down, help them get the warehouse into shape and hopefully land a permanent spot. Wouldn't mind being in warehouse permanently.

5lb off again this week that is now more than 4 stone in 13 weeks . Could be as few as 3 weeks off my original end of year goal so could be over a stone lower than I planned

Due to a miscommunication between council and housing I was 552nd place for a bungalow I'd applied for.

But after a call to both parties I've sorted it all out and NOW I'm 2nd.

Fingers crossed and all that ;)

Oddest error ever? I can't get bf4 to start in full screen mode and when I try to switch to full screen it loads the screen reader up and starts telling me what's going on.

Got a uniform finally on Thursday for work, as my boss got an absolute bollocking about it last week. Work is now 5 days a week, 6 hours a shift. 10 to 4 every shift, and it looks like I am getting my feet in the door there. I am being called to help customers more now, and even left on my own on the shop floor today for an hour.

My first official 10k run today, the annual Richard Burton 10k in Port Talbot. Just looking to get a decent time considering the injuries I've had this year. A sub-60 is expected and if I can get sub-55 I'll be happy, sub-50 and I'll be amazed.

If I can take notice of whispers going around at work, apparently my 4 week review will be coming up within the next week and that at the end of the review I will be offered a permanent role in the warehouse. Not sure whether to be confident about it happening as the ones telling me this are known for their joking around. If I had to put a figure on it, I'd say I am about 70% confident to believe them.

Just came in from tonight's 5.1 mile run, which means over the past 7 days I've run a total of 23 miles, pretty much surprising myself considering I was out most of the summer with injuries and only really started back running about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Half, or even full marathon beckons next year....

was a bit disappointed in my weight loss this week only 3.5 lb still leaves a little over 3 for my end of year goal and I am injured still so no weights. Hope I will make it still by next week though. However my sparring was the best yet so the rest has made a huge difference. I could feel my old self got my kicks going turning kicks my old favorite the hook kick and even threw a few spinning kicks in for good measure

MalteseFalcon 10-11-2013 17:13

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Had a mini review today at work, was due on Halloween. Apparently, apart from a couple of minor points that need to be discussed (which apparently everyone is getting told not just me), and that if he can get approval from area management once my work placement is over and seasonal contract finishes on Christmas Eve I will be given a permanent full time contract in the New Year.

Apparently two of the supervisors who are hard to please have both been leaving reports of praise for the manager to see and other workers feedback is good. I have even been asked to walk down to tills with cash office staff while they take money out of the tills and back to the office, which shows trust in someone they have only known for a month.

Oh, and I know I shouldn't gloat but the one supervisor I didn't like has now been demoted to working on the tills. She turned around the other week and said she could only do 4 hours meaning the other 2 in the cash office were doing 11 hour shifts last week and this week.

Shame I have a cold to ruin my excellent mood tonight.

Had a very annoying error that kept crashing Google in IE11, it was something to do with DW20.EXE.

After using IE in metro I found a solution, Delete your history, problem solved, and Lappy survives being thrown across the room :D

Just smashed my PB for distance running, 7.26 miles and I felt I probably could have gone a bit further too. Also turns out that along the way I took a new PB time for 10k too :)

Llanelli Half-Marathon in March here we come :)

You're now a member of the saddo club. :D

It has taken me years to just get over the 3k mark. Must be a sign of quality rather than quantity. :D

For the first time since leaving school 12 years ago I am below 110 kilos in weight. Feeling very pleased with myself, not far to go to get to my target of 100 kilos. Doubt I will make it by new year, but will give it a damn good go.
