That is an interesting addition to the bill. It's warming up nicely.

I recorded it and watched it at the same time. Even thought the event ran over by about 25 minutes my SKY+ box recorded the whole show. I noticed the SKY EPG didn't change to the next advertised programme right up until the boxing finished. SKY must have a dynamic EPG that doesn't change if it recognises a programme is running late. This will allow the SKY+ box to keep on recording the show even if it runs over by 2 hours.

Before I jumped ship, as they say, I never really had a problem with boxing on Virgin. I had 1Tb TiVo and would just add an hour onto the end of any boxing I intended to record.

One plus I've found by joining SKY is that I'm able to record action from the red button. SKY broadcast a 2 hour undercard show on Saturday on the red button from 7pm. I was able to record this and I'll be watching it tomorrow.

It is a good move by SKY. I believe they are reacting to feedback from boxing fans who have suggested SKY haven't shown the same commitment as Boxnation by showing full cards. Would SKY have made this move if Boxnation didn't exist or didn't show full events? I'm guessing no.

It's healthy to have 2 broadcasters invested in the sport. Hopefully it'll drive both companies to improve and innovate. It's great that both are embracing TV fans live on the night by way of Twitter and the Boxnation scoring app.

It's boxings equivalent of Pepsi Vs. Coke :D

Boxnation to bid for Haye fight:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle4864881.ece

"A yet there is no TV deal in place to screen the bout, but BoxNation will bid as the specialist broadcaster while Sky might also be tempted to bust their boxing budget."

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Boxnation have confirmed they will be showing Saul Alvarez Vs. Austin Trout on the 20th April.

Noticed on the SKY EPG that B0xnation are showing live boxing from 2pm this Saturday afternoon but no specific information is given. Buncey hinted that they will be showing the debut of Zou Shiming this Saturday afternoon. It's a great card from Top Rank:

Brian Viloria Vs. Juan Francisco Estrada

Wilfredo Vazquez Jr Vs. Yasutaka Ishimoto

Roman Martinez Vs. Diego Magdaleno

Zou Shiming Vs. Eleazar Valenzuela

The broadcast is scheduled for 4 hours. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! This should be officially confirmed within the next 48 hours.

I was also interested to see Jim Rosenthal interview David Haye on Bunces Boxing Hour. Jim hinted at the end of the interview that it was good to see Haye back on Boxnation. It looks like the return of David Haye wil be on Boxnation.
