I have a Dacia Spring, which is the cheapest ‘full size’ small electric car on the market. It’s cheap as chips but great value as long as you really don’t ever need to go out of town in it.

Just to follow this up … the car lost 1% of its charge in the fortnight it sat on the drive during our holiday. It went from 89% to 88%, which in a tiny Dacia Spring equates to a little over one mile of range.

A battery-powered lawn mower. I’ve been skeptical of them for years, with their high prices and low run-time, but things seem to be improving.

I bought a Bosch Universal Rotak 550, with dual 18v 4w/h batteries.

I bought a Bosch and for me a battery powered lawn mower was a game changer, so much easier to quickly do a cut.

Re: What have you just bought?

Yeah, I gave it a test run yesterday when I got it assembled, and I did front and back in less than half the time. Admittedly it was only 5 days after its last cut so front and back didn’t even fill a whole grass box, but still. My last experience of being untethered was at my old house where the garden was large and rough and needed a petrol mower to get it done. I used to have to allow a couple of hours for that, and time afterwards for a shower, as it was seriously heavy work. This was a breeze. I’m really happy with it. The only minor niggle is that it requires 2 charged batteries but they supplied a charger that only does one battery at a time (and apparently they don’t even make one that can charge two at once). Looks like I’m going to have to buy a second charger so I don’t have to keep one eye on the recharge to swap them over.

We have had one for years, we just charge both batteries up before use - two is easily enough to do our lawn.

Yeah I kinda subscribed to the Worx eco system. I have a hammer drill and sds drill an awesome combi jigsaw/reciprocating saw a hedge trimmer and the double kit of lawn mower and strimmer. All really good

Mine only takes 1 4w/h battery and mine has never run out of charge, I usually just drop it on charge after 1 cut, it doesn't take long.

I wouldn't bother buying a second charger just get in the habit of charging both after a cut and swapping them. You may not even need to charge them after one cut.

Well I dont use Tesco, but we have an Iceland Bonus Card, that adds £1 for every £20 you put on it, so a 5% bonus.

I'm stunned by the exchange rate (I know, the prices increase to reflect it) - when we first started going to North Cyprus in 2007, the exchange rate was 2.40 YenTLs to the pound, now it's 53.81...

(we change money over there - we find we get a better rate; off there again last week in September/first week of October - we find July and August too hot (mid-30s to low 40s)).

Sadly quidco my preference over topcashback doesn't have it. It would be handy I live next to a Tesco express. I'm in there near everyday.

There is no reason why you can't get a Topcashback account too if it saves and gives free money.

If I remember correctly it was about 3Tl to the £ when I first went in 2015. I think inflation is running at about 35% now which is down from the 80% ish it was last year.. always makes me laugh when people complain that Turkey is expensive it’s not it’s just it was ridiculously cheap

It’s generally about 30-33c when we go so not too but I still remember the first time walking out of Antalya arrivals at about 11pm and doing a u turn back into the aircon muttering ‘no, absolutely not’ the subsequent 3hr transfer on a packed coach with no aircon was a joy.

Awesome, keep it locked up too many scummy people about. I remember when I was a child I never had to lock a push bike up but now even if you lock it up someone comes along with an angle grinder!!!

yeah tested it out today went 60 miles it is light a good riding position. Draws the effort but you find road bikes do that anyway. 74% vigorous effort(130 to 150 bpm I think) so keeping the heartrate up for most of it hit a peak heart rate of 172

But you have to get to that point first obviously.

It's nice to be able to buy such nice things, no doubt about that. But to continue to show off such wealth does makes you slightly different from normal people here.

To say a car is more useful, is just a reaction. A humble spatula is more useful than having a dozen watches lol.

The larger basket does look a bit more of a use overall. And the be able to split into two if and when needed is quite handy.

I am looking to replace my older version Ninja (AG551UK) but it's one of the earlier versions that can grill. And to cook steaks etc in it they do comes out great. But seems I'll have to make a choice of just an air fryer and maybe buy the separate grill version to get the best of both worlds. But I do lack storage space so not sure what to do at the mo.

I've got a Specsavers free eye test coupon from work, so hoping I don't have issues when I use it along with free corporate safety glasses.

Glasses have always been fine but this would be a first getting an eye test there, I've not had an eye test in over a decade and the only reason I'm doing it is it's free and my current safety glasses are falling apart and have chemical damage on the lenses.

I went to buy Impatiens plug plants at a local store. As I was sorting through the dried and wind-blasted plants, a manager came out. "They're all for the bin, so take as many as you like for free".

60 free plants, a saving of £12. 40 for me, 20 for an aged neighbour who can't cope with her garden anymore. I'll plant them all tomorrow morning.

Whilst I was there I bought a loaf for the missus as our son binned half a loaf this afternoon, thinking it was mouldy. It was just flour on the crust.

I bought a colour laser last year. First thing I do when I shop is make sure I can get 3rd party inks/toners. I bought a brother and a full set of 3rd party toners is £35 . I had a Brother mono before this and got 4 black toners for 6quid and they were fine. Also I make sure you can get 3rd party drums too because you will find that will sting when you need to replace them too

All inks eventually block the nozzle whether cheap or not, this is the reason I went with a Brother Mono laser as I hardly use a printer and the laser just works regardless of how frequently used.

tbh it is lack of use . Most people do not print very often and most printers heads are separate to the reservoir meaning they never get changed. HP has their heads on the cartridge so you change them every time to swap but they are really expensive. You will not block a head of a toner as it is a dry powder anyway that is why I switched to laser
