At least, that’s what we’ve been led to believe. Interesting that it has HDMI ports, though, so I guess there must be other options available.

It’s got all the major streaming apps.

But is that extra cost on top . . . same as an ordinary TV?

Yeah but then if it's got HDMI ports then you would be able to watch cable tv or BT tv too, wouldn't you?

Sky have a history of including ports you cannot use on their boxes (USB ports come to mind), so unusable had I ports would not be a surprise.

There again it could be that however makes the Sky Glass is using the spec of a TV they currently make and it's easier not to remove them?

Well yes, none of this is particularly revolutionary but OB seems to think it’s going to change how everyone consumes TV.

If the HDMI ports didn't work then who'd want a TV they can't plug their dvd or blu ray player into?

But doesn't that work via Bluetooth? Don't think you can connect a dvd player or blu ray player to TV via Bluetooth? So not the same comparison,is it?

I don’t think you do actually, unless you pay the Sky Glass subscription.

Ultimately, it will all be IPTV.

Incidentally, neither the Sky channels nor the streamers are free. Premium content has to be paid for, that’s pretty obvious.

So, Discovery is now speaking to BT about a joint venture in sport as the DAZN-BT negotiations get tricky.

Is there a stand alone and profitable TV sports broadcaster?

Indeed, and merging the rights held by Discovery via Eurosport and BT Sport would make this a very strong competitor with Sky as the rights held by Eurosport would compliment the rights held by BT Sport very well.
