And I'll raise you a rectal tumour, Taken out using the T.A.M.I.S procedure. And my op is online (youtube) used as a training for the procedure.

Can I up the stakes with a peckaoctomy!
I had a choice of a thing like a pipecleaner or a rigid pipe.
Felt like I was having my pecka being bored out.
I reality the process was to determine if I had any blockages in my pipework.
Already had what was being discussed earlier, not even a wiff of gas to keep me calm.
[Mind you I was/still on beta blockers]

Went to see Human League at the Utilita Arena Birmingham tonight.

Birmingham is a fracking nightmare, bumper to bumper tracffic, and roads closed everywhere.
Our maps and Sat Nav were both rendered useless, everywhere we wanted to go was blocked or closed.
It took 2.5 hours to finally get to the arena, and only because I cheated and went down a one way street (the wrong way) go get to the road we needed.

Never again will I book anything there. Birmingham can go **** itself.

The show itself was great, we had just made it in time (about 10 minutes to spare).

Wow, they are still going? Still the same line up?

I saw them at Stafford Bingley Hall while they were number 1 with Don't You Want Me. That'll be 40 years ago

Dunno like, in the early nineties i had a seat ibiza with half its front wing missing due to rust. Oh, and a drivers door that swung itself wide open if you even thought about turning left :D :D :D :D :D

I'm going to presume that, unlike a Ford Focus, Kia Sportage, or Nissan Primera, the parts required for your beemer won't be widely available at a scrapyard to fit yourself?

Always assuming that there is no need to rip the whole front of the car off just for access to remove and replace the parts . . bloody modern cars :afire:

I found this out when I wanted to replace my oil cap - there are no car breakers with BMW parts near me for at least 40 miles. The closest is in Forest of Dean.

Either way though, with something like a radiator and coolant tank I wouldn’t want to take chances. Knowing my luck any that I fit will come complete with a hairline fracture and would lead to a head gasket failure.

In fairness it’s the most it’s ever cost me. It’s flown through 2 MOTs and never needed anything other than a service plus a 6 monthly oil and filter change.

Coming back from picking up some last minute things from the supermarket and took a tumble over an uneven paving slab. I couldn't save myself as I had two bags and an umbrella (Furled)

A kind lady came over and asked if I was OK. Apart from a grazed arm no damage except a shattered bottle of wine. Had to be the better one for Christmas day.

The on-line petition to rescind the knighthood has amassed over 390,000 signatures. Must be a public duty to sign this.

Not the morning I quite had planned...
Drove into the car park at work, opened the car door, put one foot out of the car, and then felt this painful biting sensation!

Quickly moved out the way to find two squirrels running off. So I got bit by a blooming squirrel just above my ankle.

So ofcourse had to go and get checked out and now several hours later Ive had a tetanus booster and antibiotics.

Sitting at my computer yesterday evening my Alexa show alerted be to the fact my parcel had been delivered and my phone said there was a problem and the driver need my help, going to the door I saw the van reversing, and no parcel I looked behind the bin and still no parcel.

Trying to contact Amazon was a joke as I would have to wait until the 25th.

Then my dad said he had a photo of his parcel which he was also waiting for, I looked at the photo and saw that the picture didn't match our door step.

So checking the neighbours, I found it 3 doors up.

Our number ends in 9, it was outside 6.

I must say that is a rare event in my 10 years buying from Amazon.

Russ 24-01-2022 10:38

Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8

I had virtually the same thing happen just before Christmas. I live in number 61, the parcel was delivered to number 19, luckily enough we know the guy who lives there and he brought it to us.

I can’t find the photo now but the picture the driver took was of the corner of the parcel. It didn’t show anything about where he’d placed it.

Amazon’s Filipino call centre were completely useless.

Foxes bloody Foxes, i think there is 1 living in next door neighbours abandoned garden/shed, there is an animal that has dug under his fence and then crosses my garden as there are tracks in the grass and leaves under my garden gate, ive tried to block that exit off but it is moving the piece of 3/2 wood i placed across and kicking knocking 2 wheelie bins out the way as well as digging under the wood! It's also leaving holes all over the lawn.

So now i've ordered an ultrasonic light flashing/sounding thingy with the help that will atleast help and possibly pissing off my neighbours and some Scoot.

You are a great Dad and the only person who matters in the long run knows how much you love and miss them. The truth of what has been done will come out sooner or later and it will be the person who has kept you both apart that will have to face up to what she has done.

Hope your daughter gets her things back Grim. Having sentimental things stolen is very upsetting even if they are covered by insurance and knowing someone's been in your home is also hard to come to terms with.

I guess by now you are at least on your way to Llandudno but stay safe and I hope your being there for your Auntie helps her at this sad time. <<<hugs>>>

My sympathies, it's really horrible. We got security cameras and lights after we were burgled twice in a few months, I like the idea that the police will possibly know the horrible scrotes and hopefully take them off the scene. At least you're heading off to a nice part of the welsh coast although not in the best of circumstances. ;)

TfL are a joke

My nephew and friends went into London yesterday, they got on the central line to get to Epping.

But thanks to the tube strike, they were dumped at Leytonstone. So had to set the satnav to find it.

Then I found it was in the expensive ULEZ, luckily my car is the latest and no charge.

Their website is crap and not user-friendly, as its up to you to know if you have to pay and as mentioed their site is crap.

webuyanycar - avoid like the plague!

Selling my old car* (gave it to my son about 18 months ago when I bought the Kodiaq, he gave it back in November when he bought an old Ford Ranger) - I put it up for sale on FB Marketplace and Gumtree, didn’t get much response except for a couple of people offering £2k below asking price.

So, last week I thought I’d try Webuyanycar, carbuyinggroup, and Manheim (part of Autotrader), and got valuations from all of them of around £5.5k (which was what I thought it would fetch) - these valuations were based on all the relevant data (mileage, condition, lots of interior and exterior photos (including any small chips)).

Went to webuyanycar on Tuesday to let them review the car, and they offered £3,871; carbuyinggroup came to the house yesterday, and offered £5,200; Manheim came this afternoon, and offered £5,421 - I accepted this offer, money’s now in the bank.

Looking at reviews of Webuyanycar, apparently 96% of survey respondents said they were offered less than the original amount.

Thank you, the kind words are appreciated. Was back there yesterday and think we've got most of the immediate stuff sorted.

Mr T had yet another nocturnal seizure this am at 5.53am, called ambulance which arrived within 10 minutes, he is OK now but we are back to his no driving state until further notice. Thank heaven for wonderful neighbours all around who are willing to drive us from a to b when necessary.

My neighbour of 28 years (77 year old lady) died in hospital last night, two weeks after being admitted with COVID.

She had finished her cancer treatment and had been given the all-clear six months ago, and had just started going out to the shops after the New Year (up till then, I dropped off her weekly shopping).

She had been a great neighbour, very friendly, really spoiled our children - she will be missed.

Yet more twists, turns and dodges from ‘her’ purely to make things difficult for me to see my son. Again as the Law courts are involved I’m not able to go in to detail “yet” but as soon as I can I’m going to give it both barrels on here about what’s been going on over the past 6/7 years. Not to get sympathy or “woe is me” as we’ve all got our own brown-stuff we have to deal with but given the about of lies, misrepresentation and complete BS that’s been spun about me I have to go public with the truth for the sake of my own sanity.

I have 2 daughters 1 whose mother I was married to I had excellent access in fact I had most weekends with her from the age of 2. My second daughter me and her mother was not married so no automatic rights and I had no access to her at all throughout her life except through the odd email. Last year though at 16 years old she approached me via email and told me she wanted to get to know me and eventually meet. We have not met yet as she lives a good distance away and I have been pretty much isolated throughout the pandemic but hope to finally meet her in the flesh soon.

I hope you do not have to wait so long but rest assured even if you do your son will want to know you eventually and her behaviour he could well end up resenting

I have a family member whose wife had an affair while their daughter was 4 months old, she wanted to be a swinger, he didn't.

She had custody, and as the daughter grew up, the mum told her that her dad had the affair.

A few years back the daughter (23) told him that she wants nothing to do with him, she also refers to her stepdad as dad.

When all this started he said he would never marry again, but he met and married and then had two kids, one is now 17, the 17-year-old had said that his half sister can do one and wants nothing to do with her.

I'm gutted.

On Thursday morning, an agency called about a job, no interview needed and I said I can start Monday, a few hours later the sent me forms to fill.

Then they asked if I could start on Friday (18th), of course I said yes.

So I called my sister to go up to my town with me to get some needed shoes.

Later on Thursday, I was told it had been put on hold.

They told me on Friday that the job had gone to someone internally, so I'm lucky I hadn't signed off.

I assume you have a mouse connected then.
In that case go to Settings, then Accessability, and then select Mouse and Trackpad. There should be an optin to ignore the trackpad when a mouse is connected.

Buy an USB keyboard.

I have my laptop sitting to the right of a 28" TV (acting as a monitor) on a shelf, and connected a USB keyboard and mouse.

Had promise after promise regarding replacements (the last one in October saying we'd have them 'by spring'). According to their website, new orders in our colour combination apparently have an 11 to 14 week lead time so doubt we'll see new cushion covers anytime soon.

Add to that the three attempts they needed to deliver furniture not bent out of shape or a different shade of weave AND the problem with the incorrect corner cushions they just seem to be ignoring.

Apparently there's a 7 year warranty but I'm getting the feeling anyone claiming will have a laugh a minute trying to get something sorted. They have a pretty good score on Trustpilot but a good read has quite a few customer claims of Moda only offering to sort out issues for customers if they remove the bad reviews.

Emailed them again last night asking them to sort the issues in a timely manner or we'll be expecting them to collect the stuff and refund the money. Mrs G has an 'in for a penny, in for a pound' attitude and will happily throw a bit more money at a claim in the small claims court.

Sorry for the bump, but a bit of an update.

21st June last year we'd had enough and lodged a claim at the County Court. A hearing was scheduled for January but adjourned to the 10th February. They didn't turn up so the Judge found in our favour for the full amount with payment due by 4pm 1st March. Had a phone call from them this morning and the money has just landed in the bank. Result.

The court gave them 14 days after the payment to collect it. They didn't mention it when they phoned so let's what and see. If they do contact us, I'm thinking about offering them a few £'s to keep it - after all they messed us about so long it's been sitting outside for over 2 years already so is depreciating a bit more every day!

I'd wait for them to arrange collection and then if they do make them an offer, either way its still a result to get that kind of cash back :tu:
