Thats utter nonsense Arthur and you should not believe one word of it.

No news since Friday from insiders. But by 6pm the three extra channels on my 'total channels' was removed. Virgin must have seen my post.

Indeed with their results that are coming out on Wednesday should be very interesting and l am expecting more excellent figures especially with people taking more and more services and one also suspects the take up of TiVo will show even stronger figures to boot as well given this is usually the best quarter of the year.

The results will make interesting reading especially as the price rise was announced during the last quarter. If they have managed to maintain customer numbers will it be at the expense of income per customer. I and many other customers unhappy with the rises have negotiated deals in my case reducing the monthly cost on last year by £20.

l don't think it will have that much effect in this quarter AB and if any effect is going to happen it will be in the next quarter perhaps.

When people got their price rise letters the majority will have done absolutely nothing, except perhaps grumble a bit. Some, like myself, took advantage of being out of contract to renegotiate their monthly sub, but I suspect the likes of Chad who actually left were in a very small minority. It's not like Virgin have never raised prices before - they'll understand the impact on customer behaviour.

And lets remember other providers raise their prices just as much if not more.

Agree, this qtr will be excellent, the next one will show the impact of the price rise as the first bills with the increase won't land until late Feb

To solve a big question, is there someone on this forum that knows exactly HOW many channels VM can carry ?

In the words of the much-maligned 2 Unlimited... there's no limit. It's just a question of how much you want to spend.

I had my bill this morning, and did just that, I've rung Virgin tonight, and managed to get monthly bill back down to less than I was paying, and a free upgrade on my landline package, so really pleased. I was out of contract, so maybe this helped, I have agreed to a new contract.

Very true. Before I cancelled my services Virgin did offer me a rebate on my monthly subscription cost. My mate cancelled SKY Movies, SKY HD and dropped his broadband to 30mb when he got his price increase. I wonder how many people downsized when they got their price increase? The good news for Virgin however is even though people may have downsized, they would have recontracted for 12 months.
