can someone confirm what the cost is for getting Tivo and having your V+ moved to another room? Is the cost of moving the V+ included in the free installation? And is there an ongoing cost to have the V+ as a second box?

I have the same request, I want to keep my V+ box and have it moved to the TV room where I have a standard box so that I can have decent TV in both rooms.

Ordered on line, install Saturday 23 April 8 to 1 oclock. Quick site.

I have requested that time slot too, but still waiting for a confirmation email. Wonder what hubby will think when he finds out I have spent so much of his money without asking him first :D

Apart from the "specially designed for VM" BBC iPlayer (referring to the App, not the VOD menus). I thought the App was just the web iPlayer BigScreen edition?

No, it has been designed for VM, but pulls the content from the web ;)

Virgin's google email service is down again for me just as it was this time yesterday =-/. Will probably call up rather than do it online though as I may upgrade to VIP50 depending on what works out cheapest.

No, the Big Screen edition is HTML and the TiVo one by the nature of TiVo must be flash.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Hi,
Got my email this morning, but wanted to speak to someone as I want to get rid of my standard box upstairs, move V+ up there and have Tivo downstairs. Rang the sales line, but they wouldn't let me order it as the account is in my husband's name. I am authorised on the account - with a password - but she still wouldn't let me order.
As I didn't want to wait until late this afternoon, and miss out on an install date, I went ahead and ordered a straight upgrade to Tivo online. I have an order number.
DF (or other staff members) -
  • Can I just ask the Engineer to swap them over?
  • Can I swap them over beforehand myself?
  • Should I speak to someone - and if so, which department/number?
Hoping for installation on the 23rd April - but as you can't book online and only request, we'll have to wait and see.
Cheers,

Doesn't that go completely against the BBC's remit from the BBC Trust to not spend any more money producing custom versions of iPlayer?

I know, it's almost as if they know what they are talking about! There not called Trusted Reviews for nothing.

They do say that the iPlayer App has three times the content of the V+ one, I know it has more but that much?

Cheers,

Wait until the appointment is confirmed and then get the account holder to call sales to adjust the order

I'm sure if TiVo can display Flash-contained content, it can display HTML

In BigScreen on the web only the video container/player is Flash, and the rest of the app is HTML.
