Some are quick to call the NTL staff if they don't give what is being asked but we don't know what instructions those staff have been given. If nothing else, this thread has provided many examples of customers getting through to NTL on the telephone with no wait involved. That means that either NTL have vastly improved their customer service operation or the often reported very long queues were a bit of a myth. All I can say is "Well done NTL, you gave us what you promised and on time". NTL is delivering a service that most ADSL companies cannot match. Wonder how many NTL customers have jumped ship as a result of getting these unbelievably low speeds with an hint of a cap? :) |

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Well it took me 3 tries via CS and finally it went through. Modem rebooted automatically 10 minutes after the call. Wasn't going to try again but had some free time this morning and thought what the heck. Wasn't really that bothered apart from a mate of mine poking me about paying more for a slower speed. I'm in Bury - upgrade is allegedly available (see above). I'm still hopeful it'll get sorted today though not quite sure why I'm being optimistic ;) |

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
WOW - That was easy.....
Got home last night... Choose "upgrade your speed" from the webpage. Went through a couple of windows. Was told I now had 2Mb broadband. Went to dslreports......which confirmed a download rate of over 1800kbps. No waiting, no reboots.... Not often I say this...."Well done NTL" |

Cheers for that Nostra, Downstream 204800bps, up 200000bps. Browsing doesn't seem any faster though. |

browsing speed also depends on speed of the server/site you're linking to.
