Osem Jnr has just been told that his Sensei is putting him forward for consideration for promotion to Black Belt 2nd Dan. Of course I am biased, but he's worked and trained so hard over the years since he achieved the black belt that I think he thoroughly deserves what is quite an accolade. :)

Thanks Den, it's not a done deal by any means as it has to go to a panel of senior senseis but even if he doesn't make it this time we're still proud of what he's achieved.

Have you thought about doing it in the morning before work?

I decided to catch bus slightly earlier than normal to work, and get off before my normal stop, and walk

About 1.1 miles, burns about 117 calories

i wanted to enjoy more of the nice weather. As long as rain keeps away, may continue in Winter

Good for you. Another Happy Thought. I heard a country song by George Jones called 50,000 Names carved on a wall on FB & I loved it. I looked for the Cd on Amazon & they wanted $47 for it. I looked out my collection & realised I had the CD myself. I think they just cash in when someone passes away. Just playing it just now.

Yes good old George was a true Country and Western legend who's name will live on for people to enjoy for many decades ahead.

I am proud to say I met him in Ireland when we were over for a concert. George & Nancy were staying at the same hotel & we all had breakfast together. He was a very down to earth guy & sat & had a chat before they went on the Tour bus. I have beautiful Pictures and good memories of the great George Jones.

Well done, I wish my aunt had the same willpower as you obviously have. I hate smoking with a passion, I was breathing in cigarette smoke every day for 12 years before my mum gave up smoking. I blame that for my asthma now.

TBH ive done quite well in last few days as last Saturday (not the one just gone the one before) i won works bonus ball which was a grand total of £46, then Sat just gone i won £5 on roulette machine so put that on a bet for Chelsea, Man Utd and England to win 4th test and won that today with a total of £33.75 from that. Ok so lost £2 on lotto but cant have it all. Winnings in just over a week - £84.75

Natalie has now completely spanked Peter and I at scrabble, I hope I can beat her tomorrow.

So I guess I really am thick :)

Just baking now, smells good. :)

I make the loaf with half white and quarter of brown and wholemeal flour and add pumpkin, sunflower and linseeds. Unfortunatly I'm out of poppy seeds for the crust. I'll have to remember to put them down on my shopping list.

I like to use my traditional bowl for mixing up the dough. Looks much like this one:

Yes there is always something we forget with regards to ingredients and yes l have seen those trusty old bowls before as my parents use that type quite a bit.

Well, 10 minutes spent with an immigration official and I'm now a permanent resident of the USA. Still hasn't quite sunk in...
