Re: BMR When?
I won't change my service provider? Why should i? I've said that before if you'd bothered to read my posts. Sound is the half most important thing about a tv service and I have every right to complain about it? I don't understand why you don't like me complaining about it? Bizzare. Don't like it, don't reply. Simple. You whining about my justified complaint ain't gonna stop me for one second so either bring something to the table or stfu.

NTL know about the sound problem. No-one's in any doubt about that. It will definitely be fixed in the next Bromley software update -- it's already fixed in the (slightly newer) software for the Samsung. The complain may be valid, or at least may have been until you were given a Samsung. What I don't understand though is how you think repeatedly whining about it on this board is going to make the software update appear even one second quicker. You started off with people on your side. But going on and on and on and on about the same issue -- when it doesn't even affect you any more! -- ****es people off. Please, change the record. |
Re: BMR When?
Thank you Tristan.

Re: BMR When?
the software will be released when it's ready...simple.
there are other bugs in the software apart from the sound issue, they have to be fixed. when it's ready for release, then you will know! :) (next year, between January and December :p: ) |
Re: BMR When?
I'll stop going on about it next year then (between January and December). Like i said, if you can't add to it, stfu.

And too be honest you're not adding anything to the topic by talking about the same thing constantly. So maybe you should follow your own advice :) Out of curiosity, why didn't you join the BETA team which would have given you the chance to complain at people who actually deal with the software? |

Gary:
As far as I can tell, NTL will never release an exact date for the release of the software. Basically because if they say (for example) it will be released on the 2nd January and then discover a major bug which will require re-writing a large part of the software, thus the release date will be pushed back, possibly quite a way. You will not bring the release date forward by moaning about it and telling people to stfu. You will also not persuade NTL to release this date. Any employee involved in the planning of the release (who would know) has probably had it written in their contract that they will not reveal this sort of information. In my experience, companies often regard the release of "commercially sensitive" information as gross misconduct, and therefore a sackable offence. Now, I (& others) have offered you solutions that will work now, not next year, or whenever NTL plan to release the software, but you don't want to take them. Ok, so you are happy with your NTL phone & BB. Fine. Drop the DTV, and go to Sky (which may work out cheaper anyway). I believe NTL will let you drop the DTV but keep the Phone and BB. |
Re: BMR When?
Thanks for your opinions but err how about no thanks. When they fix the sound I'll shut up about it. That's if it's even fixed properly and they haven't cranked it up yet again.
Every other software release date gets release by people wetting themselves to tell us, so sooner or later (and after a year, I'm guessing it's the latter) it'll be leaked out. |

People would offer their sympathy towards you more, but there is a slight issue, quite frankly, your attitude stinks. Further more, if you want to continue posting on this forum, you will not be so rude and tell other members to stfu. |

I haven't directly offered an opinion. I have offered advice based in my experiences with NTL and other companies. As I have stated previously, I have seen beta tests from both sides of the fence. Just because a product has entered beta does NOT mean it is ready for release anytime soon. Windows XP SP2 was in beta for 6 months before it was eventually released (I was on the test team). IIRC, CR3 suffered similar delays to BMR. as did MR1 and LCR3. I do not recall ANYONE leaking accurate release dates. I wil offer an opinion now. You do not appear to care about when (or even if) BMR is released. If you were as worried about it as you say you are, you would have changed to another supplier. One who does not mess you around as much as NTL appears to have. No. You appear to be in this for the arguing |

Do you know for a fact that it's fixed in the beta testing? Hey, if i'd have signed up for beta testing I could have had the problem a lot longer. Thank god I'm not. When did they roll out that last update anyway? Must be 15 months or so ago? Not exactly in a rush to fix a major problem are they? |

I assume it is fixed in the beta though. The build used in the Samsungs doesn't appear to have the problem. Quote:

Re: BMR When?
Let's say I signed up for the Beta the last time round and didn't notice the crackle and pop til it was too late.
CR3 is then rolled out. So I've had it in beta form and in CR3 form. Therefore, I've had it longer than anyone else. (no rockets in sight either) By the way, thanks to the people who complained about the alarm being too quiet, which is apparently the reason they cranked the sound up in the first place. Never used it, never will. But hey, you get to hear your alarm now and again, I have to put up with third world sound. Cheers. Also, thanks to the people who were on that beta for CR3. Well spotted! |
Re: BMR When?
If you had been on the CR3 beta, you could have spotted (& reported) the bug..
