Re: *all* ntl Cap Discussion (part 4)
Have to laugh 10 mb 75gb cap which you can use in approx 21 hours. 2mb unlimited you can download the same 75gb in just under 4.5 days, works out approx 500gb you can download in a month. Big question why not just make the cap on 10mb 500gb, that would stop the obvious migration from 10mb to 2mb.

Re: *all* ntl Cap Discussion (part 4)
if the cap was larger on 10meg then yeah i would happily pay what i'm paying now and stay at 10meg, but now it seems that 2meg unlimited may be available, hell even 1meg unlimited if no 2meg then i'll happily downgrade yet download more and pay NTL less.
Who losses out?, not me thats for sure |
NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
Both 1 and 2meg services are going unlimited (NO CAP) come January.
Prices are unchanged. :Yikes: I seem to remember "The Bloke in the Pub" did say that everyone would be happy by the end of this year. |

Re: NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
It's not so long ago that I was pleased as punch at my brand new 600kbs connection with a 1Gb per day cap - all for a measly £25 ;)
Well done NTL :):):tu::tu: |
Re: *all* ntl Cap Discussion (part 4)
This is why i'm surprised they didn't offer a 37.99 unlimited deal. A lot of people will just downgrade now, i for one definitely will.

Re: NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
Does this mean they will not upgrade 2mb to 10mb as planned? Or will they still introduce 10mb with 30gb limit @ £24.99?
|
Re: *all* ntl Cap Discussion (part 4)
The 75gb "cap" is probably more of a deterant than a hard limit to try and minimise the amount of people trying to download the internet. I'd be shocked if they clamped down harder on someone paying £35 a month than someone paying £18. Although I'm sure it won't mean you can max out your connection 24/7.

Re: *all* ntl Cap Discussion (part 4)
Just to point out I said about those *forced* to downgrade due to caning it.
Those *upgraded* to the 512k from 300k will have no problems upgrading, only those forcibly moved to 512k will have any problems. |
Re: NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
come on you did'nt think NTL were serious about upgrading the 1 and 2 mb users... The system is on its knees with the 10mb users nevermind the unlimited 1 and 2mb products, you will never be able to download 24/7 at good speeds.
NTL also mentioned in the same press release they were brining out a a turbo button wherte you can upgrade change the speed for a short time... hmm this has'nt happend Im currently on 10mb and currently getting Wed, 14 Dec 2005 20:50:26 UTC 1st 512K took 2734 ms = 187.3 KB/sec, approx 1543 Kbps, 1.51 Mbps 2nd 512K took 2328 ms = 219.9 KB/sec, approx 1812 Kbps, 1.77 Mbps 3rd 512K took 1766 ms = 289.9 KB/sec, approx 2389 Kbps, 2.33 Mbps 4th 512K took 2265 ms = 226 KB/sec, approx 1862 Kbps, 1.82 Mbps Overall Average Speed = approx 1902 Kbps, 1.86 Mbps Emm imagine the unlimted 1 & 2mb users on the pipe aswell.. will we be able to contact the internet with so much traffic on the pipe ? hmm LOL... No.. |
Re: NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
Just because they slap 'unlimited' on it doesn't mean people will instantly change their usage patterns and whore out their connections.
|
Re: NEW! NTL Unlimited Downloads
No, but the average user shall increase there usage.... if not over time.. and there is no capacity..
