I accept there will always be an element of fanatics and those who like to say they have the quickest. Do Virgin still give a breakdown of the numbers for broadband and how many are on a set tier ? |
Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles
It has to be said BT are in the 300Mb market and it’s pricey. It’s only natural for VM to push the headline figure up. What the “average” user needs isn’t really the point - if it’s under utilised by most V.VIP customers then the cost of providing the service is virtually the same as 200/350 anyway.

I agree with your point in general, but the enthusiasts bring in money. |

Sky Q / HD / Sports / Movies Extra Box 80 MB broadband Talk Unlimited £123 BT Sport on Sky undiscounted £30 SIM only deal with unlimited data £25 (?) It's pricey everywhere you go, which is why so many people either switch or take retention deals. Granted not everyone necessarily wants everything but like for like packages are generally similarly priced. |

Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles
Just been on my account to see what my tv upgrade offers are (on player pack at the moment) with new line up of player channels. Expecting to see the new pick 'n' mix add ons, but upgrade offers were for the 'mix' or 'full house' packs. Though the link for the channels included with these offers did take you to the new pick 'n' mix options.
So it does look like they're keeping the old legacy packs available for exsisting customers, even as an upgrade. |

I had a call back from someone in the UK following my less than satisfactory attempts to obtain pricing via live chat. He confirmed that I could have it for £80 for the first year. When I said that, presumably, it would go up to £139 after the first year, he said he'd take a look into that. He then came back and said that, after looking at my accounts, it wouldn't go up to much more than £80 in the second year as discounts would be applied. Before I had chance to ask that this was made clear on the notes because of bad experiences with promises made in the past, he informed me that he had updated the notes to reflect what i'd been told. It seems that they are really wanting to push this package and are prepared to discount, so I will certainly be giving it serious consideration. |
Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles
"The notes" don't constitute an offer of a service at a price, or a contract in any meaningful way, shape or form. You are setting yourself up here. We will no doubt get to hear all about it in 12 months.
