Re: Vivid 350?
they are an absolute bunch of muppets. When I rang up last week they said it was a tech visit because they would need to check the power levels etc so I waited a week so I could book a date when I knew I would be in for it.
Yodel have just turned up with a self install kit which I could have had a week ago :grind: Anyways, here is a pre-shub3 speedtest on 200mbits with my shub2 (it has done so well ) https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2017/08/33.png It took a while and many reboots to get it activated, download the latest firmware and get into modem mode etc but I can say it has been worth the wait: https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2017/08/34.png I am provisioned for 400/22 on 20 downstream channels and 2 up. |

Re: Vivid 350?
I'm now on VIVID 350 as well. They managed to screw up my order as well but a phone call managed to sort it all out.

Re: Vivid 350?
Why do you all need 380/21 for? Why? At present 80/20 is more than enough for every days streaming, downloading etc. I just don't understand why everyone's want this 380/21 so badly or is it to show off speed test or mine is faster than your?
If virgin media 380/21 or BT 330/30 is available to my house I wouldn't bother to have it. More than happy with my current 80/20 FTTC. Don't need faster than that at present. |

At times in our house there are 2 4k streams from Netflix happening in different rooms. This is 30mbit, but then I can be on my PC doing stuff. FTTC is only 55mbit for me. When I download a new game from Steam, I want it now, not in 3 hours time. This service makes it pretty damn close to now. I pay £43 a month for my 350mbit broadband, no phone line. It would be £44.99 for 55mbit from BT. Why would I pay more and get less? |

Decided to have VOOM 350 installed with the Hitron as a 2nd line to run along the TTB 80/20. Didn't go with static IP as didn't fancy the whole GRE Tunnel idea isn't really required anyway. Some comparisons : Voom 350 Pinging multiplay.co.uk [85.236.96.26] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=54 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=54 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=25ms TTL=53 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=22ms TTL=53 Ping statistics for 85.236.96.26: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 22ms, Maximum = 42ms, Average = 32ms TTB 80/20 Pinging multiplay.co.uk [85.236.96.26] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=56 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=56 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=15ms TTL=56 Reply from 85.236.96.26: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=57 Ping statistics for 85.236.96.26: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 15ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 15ms So where the VM will serve me well for large downloads. It wouldn't be wise to get rid of the TTB line for latency intensive applications or gaming as I expected. |
