Re: Boxing/MMA 2014

Joshua is furthering his 13-0 career by calling out David Haye. Some great balls on a guy that's never taken a power shot yet. I don't think his team would be daft enough to let Haye get anywhere near him this early in his career. Joshua on his back and the tears following. Tired of boxers using someone far superior to get their own name in the papers.

Re: Boxing/MMA 2014

Anthony Joshua is brutal, he has so much potential it's ridiculous, if done right you can bet you're looking at the future undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, better than Lewis in every single way.

He needs to get the right trainers and promoters at the right time and we may just see Heavyweight boxing get its revival after so many years. He's going at the right pace at the minute, majority of his opponents are journeymen and I'd like to see him take gradual steps and erase the mistakes that Hatton, Froch, Groves and so many other British fighters make. Hatton being that he fought 30 second rate fighters and threw his hat in the Vegas ring with Mayweather and was taken to School, Khan tried the same thing and managed to keep his career alive and learn from it. Froch is a warrior, but he lacks skill in my opinion, can't be knocked out but couldn't touch Andre Ward if he tried. Groves is the best example for this.

Joshua recently called out David Haye, fair play to the lad, he's hungry and excited and so was George Groves. Problem being is it either goes your way or ends in tatters, Groves got Froch on a night Froch thought he was way better and nearly paid the price, Groves had an excellent power punching trainer in Adam Booth whom he then dismissed. Groves went into the rematch having improved nothing and Froch dismantled him. Groves' career is now in free fall having lost on the Mayweather undercard.

The above is entirely relevant to Joshua because not only would Haye flatten him with a right hand, it'll destroy Joshua's hype before it's really begun, it's a fight that can just never happen for the sake of British boxing. There's too much of this at the moment and whilst it serves the excitement of the British public it really doesn't serve British boxing at all.

Kell Brook is doing this now, He's got Hatton written all over him, he's throwing his hat in the ring with Khan and Mayweather and he has no right to be doing so. Brook has zero fights of any interest and isn't a bad fighter, but you just can't step up the same way Hatton did otherwise you're going to end up being floored in Vegas the same way Hatton was and you'll be quickly exposed a second rate fighter that's spent so long fighting bums you have little or no real skills to utilise. Khan at this stage of his career would obliterate Brook, he couldn't knock him out but he'll run circles around him all night and make him look like a training dummy, that's what Khan does and there's bigger punchers than Brook that couldn't get anywhere near Khan.

This year then to end out on.

Khan vs Manny. First off though, Khan has to choose between his boxing career and social life, one fight a year doesn't cut it and Virgil has been outspoken on this too. I think this is a great fight, if Khan can survive and outpoint Manny then he's up there and I don't even think a retired Mayweather could dodge him any longer.

Brook vs Chaves, somewhat of a step up but nothing major, more importantly is the fight after, Brook vs Bradley is a good potential fight against a Khan like opponent and probably a little risky but he has to start somewhere, should he beat Bradley whom is similar to Khan then I feel Brook will deserve the credit he currently gets and could move on to the bigger Vegas fights.

Joshua vs Dillian Whyte, Good fight this against an undefeated albeit a knockout bum specialist like David Price.

I think at some point you've got to give Joshua someone with a solid chin and let him experience the second half of a fight. Still though, I want to see this lad rise and become the face of Heavyweight boxing, preferably wiping that idiot Fury out on his way.

David Haye set to announce comeback: http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news...anthony-joshua

Unfortunately it appears to be legitimate this time and he hasn't took Joshua's call out as a joke. This is silly, if this fight happens it's exactly why the Heavyweight division is dire, Haye could easily talk himself into the ring with a Number one contender and then take on Wlad again but nah, typical.

Fury's downfall is postponed after Wlad injury.

Roughly how many months between a fight for MMA people? I know Ronda Rousey is fighting in November, I'm trying to figure out when her next fight will be after that. I know it will be in 2016 at some point.

Too many factors.

Personal
Division
Injury
Opponent

I.E Heavyweight Champions literally fight once a year if you're lucky whilst a Light Heavyweight Champion will go twice or even three times, that's the division factor.

With Rousey I figure 2016 is a two fight year given the 3 already this year.

I'd go with June and November.

If a 3 fight year, Feb, July and December.

A lot is dependent on other women's matches

Thanks. I have developed something of a crush on Ronda. Others look at me like I am mad for fancying her. I'm looking forward to her next fight in November.

Keep an eye on Conor McGregor too, typical Irish gob on him but simply brilliant, he's bringing back the hype they created when Lesnar signed.

Decent Promo for him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku9X4A03q_4

The sport in general just keeps getting bigger, I'd like to think Foreign tv deals (Setanta/ESPN/BT) combined with Lesnar and the simple fact, there's no constant dodging in MMA, you fight the contender. Title fights are not cherry picked, they're all elite top level fights.

Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux

Tonight/Tomorrow morning

33-0 (30 KO's) The most brutal knockout artist in Middleweight history. It's no wonder Froch just slipped away. If this guy made the jump he'd have flattened him. Lemieux is pretty much Lucian Bute, this is going to be another knockout for GGG.

Re: Boxing/MMA

Absolutely brutal. GGG has to step up and steamroll Andre Ward or talk Froch into an absolute battering. Forget Floyd, this guy is the P4P king and future Super Middleweight champion. The excitement this guy brings to the ring is worth the 5am haul.

If anyone goes for highlights you'll see one of the most one sided fights in boxing history.

Heavy lies the crown.

Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor
Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold

UFC:194 - December 12th 2015
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_194

The most anticipated fight over the past year will finally come. (Assuming Aldo doesn't find another way to peg it. The most exciting fighter in Conor McGregor will take his thousands of fighting Irish to.. where else but the iconic MGM Grand in Vegas. Champion vs Champion, Fight of the year incoming.

Amir Khan vs Manny Pacquiao April 9th 2016

Set to be announced within the next week. If the deal falls through, Amir Khan will then take on undefeated Danny Garcia in January.

Ronda Rousey exposed and obliterated at UFC 193 by Holly Holm

This was coming. The hype train derails in spectacular fashion as it's quickly proven why fighting a poor division and hyping yourself up as the best in the world is a horrible idea. Ronda Rousey is absolutely steamrolled inside 2 rounds by Holly Holm. A complete inability to defend a punch was a recipe for disaster for when she actually faced someone with punching ability, that was quickly proven today.

I couldn't be more happier this has happened. I was tired of this empty hype and was begging for someone to expose this tiring Rousey trend. Retiring undefeated? Back the drawing board to learn how to defend yourself and stop wagging the chin around in the air begging to be hit.

I don't feel at all sorry for her, gigantic mouth just got put in its place.

David Haye to announce opponent tomorrow. Expecting it to be a squash fight to get back into the game. If be some miracle it turns out to be Joshua.. I will completely lose faith in British Boxing.
