Glad you got it sorted. While the channel list isn't great I have recordings from at least one of them that I'd like to stream so I have more than I had yesterday which is an improvement in my books....and I've not had to pay any extra for it :-)

OK....this is daft. After every time I stream something, the 'other TiVo' disappears from the My Shows screen, but the other Tivo is still on the network.

Is it just me that has this issue? The appearance of the other TiVo in the My Shows screens is far too unpredictable. For instance, My front room Tivo showed the presence of my 'lounge' TiVo in My Shows. I went to the lounge and started a (test) recording of Golf from EuroSport HD. Went back to the front-room TiVo and my 'lounge' TiVo had disappeared from the My Shows list.

Hmmmm.....looks like I'm not the only one who has had this issue, even legacy TiVo owners have encountered it:

Help! Totally confused!

All I want to do is go to my den and watch, on my den Tivo a recording which is on the living room Tivo. My three tivos are connected to my home network by new home plugs and all appear on screen. I have taken a photo which shows the screen on my den tivo which tells me that to watch recordings from another tivo go to the end of my shows but I cannot figure out how to attach it to this post. Just to confuse things even more on the Multiroom streaming screen it says "Video Sharing disabled".

When I go to the end of my shows there are no networked tivos visible.

Please help!

Then you need to get that reported as a fault

Thanks Ben, but I haven't got the stamina for a protracted pidgin english conversation with a person who has no idea what I'm talking about. I was hoping to find the answer on the forums.

On each TiVo, go to Home->Help&Settings->System Info->Multi-Room Streaming. Highlight the entry with the '*' by it. Check that the Network Address shown is valid for your network (usually a 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x address but will depend on your router settings), and it says "Multi-Room: Can Stream Content". Also try rebooting all three boxes.

Ignore the "Video sharing Disabled". I don't know why it says that but it doesn't stop it working.

Thanks spiderplant!:)

I have made some progress. I can now see the living room Tivo and play unrestricted content from it on the Tivo in my den but for some reason I cannot do the reverse and watch the den Tivo in the Living room.

Yesterday Virgin Media launched a new service (Multi Room Streaming) which allows the programmes that have been recorded on one set-top box to be watched within the same house via another set-top box on my home network.

At present none of the programmes broadcast by yourselves that I have recorded are permitted to be viewed, these restrictions are imposed on Virgin Media by the content providers (yourselves) can you let me know whether you have any intention to allow this in the near future?
Calum

First reply from ITV, discussing but no date.
Dear Sir/Madam

Further to your enquiry, our Rights team has confirmed that they are in contact with Virgin regarding the issue you recently raised. I’m afraid that they’re unable to give a timescale of when the discussions may conclude, however. Please note that due to Rights issues it is likely that some programmes may have to carry restrictions.

I’m sorry that I’m unable to provide further information at this stage but would like to thank you, once again, for taking the trouble to contact ITV.

Kind regards

Derek
