The new app looks to be getting Sky quite a lot of well deserved publicity today.

Have you bought the new iPad today then MM, what are your impressions compared to the iPad 2?

Yes the app is brilliant , I've took delivery this morning the text is pin sharp and the colours are excellent , not had chance to play around properly yet though.

Sounds great. I'm purposely staying away from shops that would give me an eyes on look at the new retina display because I know I wouldn't be able to resist!

I'm going to try and keep the iPad 2 this year and move on to the 2013 iPad. Which model did you go for?

The screen is too small to enjoy the multi screen experience.

Saw this last week but never posted it. Just goes to show how closely Sky are working with apple on their iOS apps. :)

The F1 app is interesting and pushing the boundaries of what's possible imagine the same companion app working for Premier league football , different camera angles , dug out cam , highlights reel , social media feeds , other results from around the league , standings what update with latest scores.

They should make it work with all Retina displays like iPhone 4 and 4S not just iPad

Yeah, they're really showing VM and others how good iOS apps can be. This and the Sky News app in particular are really polished and well designed. I can't wait to see what Sky have in stall for us over the rest of 2012! :)

The suit of Sky apps are optimised for the iPhone retina display, it's just that the iPad apps are designed to take advantage of the bigger screen on the iPad.

The iPad Sky News app is vastly superior to the iPhone version for example.

As the iPhone Retina Display is a HD display they should make Sky Go HD so sports and movies are in HD

Ahh, ok I see what you mean.

I'm guessing that's due to mobile bandwidth issues more than anything else. On a full 3G connection when I'm out and about, I get around 3.5mb which does fluctuate a lot & would struggle to stream HD content.

Maybe when we get LTE over here they'll consider upping the resolution for Phones. :)

720p only requires about 1.5 MB but i do see what you mean so they could restrict it so HD video is only streamed when on WiFi

You wouldnt notice much difference on a screen the size of an iPhone , Sky Go is pretty good quality already.
