That was nonsense. I think every time Alex Curran was spotted afterwards, she had her ring on.

The latest rumours are that he had lost the dressing room and that senior players would leave if he stayed. Judging by some of the reactions of Gerrard and Torres at some of the subs last year, I find this readily believable. So maybe sacking him saved them from leaving.

There isn't a large amount of top-level, Premiership-suitable managers about. Hiddink has signed a new contract with Turkey. Mourinho has gone to Real Madrid. Van Gaal might be one. Hodgson is probably beneath where they are looking at.

McAteer did say it right though. Employing Dalgish as an intrim manager is a backward step. They need a long-term manager with the vision and support behind him.

shame about benitez he is a really good manager that just was unlucky as the 2 main players for liverpool have been injured quite a lot and owners that are skint and didn't have any motivation to do anything other then trying to sell the club

I think employing him is a stroke of genius, the new owners will want there own man in so why offer a massive contract to a big name only to have to sack him in a year or so when the club is sold.

The best one is about Redknapp going to Liverpool.

Yes, Redknapp is willing to move from the home he loves, to a team that finished outside the top 4, with a poorer squad, no money to spend and instead of a chairman he gets respects, to have to deal with 2 bickering idiots who are trying to flog the club.

I can see him jumping at that prospect.

Hicks is probably hoping for a good run next season to try and justify his valuation of the club. He seems to be forgetting that there's no champions league revenue next season so it's going to be increasingly difficult for them to cover the debt interest when RBS's deadline for looms.
