Not the first time a would be chairman of Barcelona has tried this ploy. Joan Laporta did exactly the same thing in 2003, with David Beckham.

Tottenham will sign forward Giovani dos Santos from Barcelona, subject to a medical and agreeing personal terms.
The Mexico international will sign a five-year deal in a move which will cost an initial £4.7m and could rise to £8.6m depending on appearances.

He scored a hat trick in Barca's last game of the season, could be a good buy.

Pretty cheap as well considering his potential, might struggle to get in the team though, considering they have Modric now

I know it's the star but i thought this was very strange.

But Ronaldo's mum Dolores Aveiro has told the 23-year-old to stay at Old Trafford. (Star Sport)

I would have thought she would be telling him to go.
