The retention on astraweb is 15 days:D
I've been on the $15 month package for aroud a year now & cant fault it! __________________ The retention on astraweb is pretty good at 15 days:D I've been using them for around a year now & cant complain:cool: |
Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
Ive joined the Exodus - i joined astraweb this am, it seems to have a 10 day retention, better completion than NTL, and more groups than NTL, and has no cap, just leech all month! It was US$10 (£5.50) which is great value, I get about 100k a second on the nonDSL option, im happy with that. Beware the NTL March cap tho, ill only be able to leech 30gig per month, so dont go for a very expensive alternative, its not worth it.
my friend has been telling me about the BT broadband hes on, it sounds good, cheaper then NTL (its unlimited downloads, but u only get 1meg download speed, faster then atm, but slower than march, BUT who cares if NTL give u 1gig a second if its capped!). Time to consider the golden handshake with NTL methinks. Has anyone a suggestion for UK broadband, with unlimited downloads, about 750k is enough too, im not a massive leecher, just mp3s realy and i have over 27,000 albums so no need to get most that are there i have them lol :) |

Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
Seems as though things are getting sorted - newsfe2-gui.server.ntli.net (news.ntlworld.com) seems to be working again. Lets hope it lasts.

Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
Im hoping I wont need the 2nd month on astraweb, NTL news "problems" have been going on for over 1 week now, their cap is only 2 weeks away, I suspect the newsgroups will be magically "fixed" just before the cap starts, the current problems are purely for bandwith saving, come the cap, they wont be needed.
I now believe the info told to me be the Welsh NTL tech guy was the truth as he believed it, BUT he was lied to. |
Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
Question : Will ntl newsgroups ever have the majority of groups and have a higher retention? Smarmy answers need not reply.
|
Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
I WAS happy with NTLs binaries, I leeched daily, I didnt need more then 24h retention, they did have about 5 days though I think, they had pretty reasonable completion too! I think JTWNs question can only be answered by some top guy at NTL, personally I cant see them upping groups much or retention though.

Re: binary newsgroups on NTL
I would be happy with what I used to have from ntl.
I am no dvd image downloader, if I like the movie and I want to have it, I prefer to buy an original DVDwith superior quality. So, I was sutisfied with ntl's service. |

binary newsgroups still dead
Anyone any ideas when this problem will be fixed, status pages said last week it was sorted, but still dead here.

Re: binary newsgroups still dead
Some of them are working for me - they only seem to update overnight though, but that's better than nothing.
