Yes indeed as if any of us had made such a mess of it we would have expected to be fired but alas l am afraid the clowns are probably still being employed in the same organisation.

Re: Train Spotters Corner
That's good news as far as my brother is concerned as he works for Virgin Trains at Euston and believe you me as we have FGW down here for several years and they are absolutely rubbish compared to when we had Virgin down here in my opinion.:tu:

50 years ago Dr Beeching wielded his axe on a large percentage of Britain's railway network piece on BBC site
Quote:
I know of plenty of routes here in the Midlands that would benefit from a rail service some are still used for freight and diversions, others mostly cycle paths. Many rural communities that lost their services would also benefit now that bus services fail to serve them. ---------- Post added at 09:05 ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 ---------- PDf documents of the entire timeline leading up to the implementation http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/doc....php?docID=115 |
Re: Train Spotters Corner
Yes we have a TV local news programme which is which is harking back to 50 years ago and how it affected many communities and l saw the first part last night and l think now people are starting to realise that in hindsight many of these cuts were short sighted to say the least.
Also there is a DVD release this week which some people might find interesting. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beechings-Le...4377577&sr=1-1 |
