Non I am using the uxtheme.dll patch from www.neonwin.net ( if links to other forums are not permitted I shall remove )

Follow all instructions to the letter, basically it modifiies a system file which then means msstyle files ( themes basically ) can be installed into the c:/windows/resources/themes directory.

The theme I am using is called Vista however it is beta and has many bugs.

Big change today, so far removed and changed my boot screen and login screens included this new stlyed toolbar, and also winamp clear skin which rocks ( not in this screenshot )

Also changed my MP10 skin but having problems getting to go clear.

I heard about this upcoming game so cannot wait for it I can see me being totally addicted to it and dying on my computer, just so i can pilot Voyager...

OO nice, one ship I really loved though for different design was in the "endgame" the Rouge Island i believe lovley shape, but Voyager just holds it for me, wish I could find a really really high res detailed image which did not look fake/cartoon/game rendered.

This tidy enough, zinglebarb? I usually put everything on toolbars and hide the icons on my desktop. Takes a bit more memory, I suppose, but it's the only way to really show off your desktop!

I like to use 1600 x 1200 desktops; I had to reduce it because CF wouldn't let me upload the full size. I find the best way to minimise overheads with wallpaper is to use .bmp files sized to your desktop (and use the 'Center' option). Although that makes for more disk space used, it takes the least resources to show on your desktop because the file doesn't need decompressing or resizing when it's refreshed.

By using B/W photos (which aren't just black & white, BTW: they'll look awful if you actually reduce the colour depth to 2 colours) and pictures with only a few colours in (this is a good example) you can also reduce file size by reducing the colour depth. Reduced colour depth also means they work well as GIFs for transfer - i.e. uploading here! The actual file size for this one as a 1600 x 1200 .bmp on my desktop is 1877KB. In 16 million colours it would be over 5000KB

AIR you can put them roughly where you want and then click Line Up Icons in the right-click menu - that won't arrange them completely as Auto Arrange will, but will line them up neatly wherever you've put them. Try it!

You mean a 2560 x 1024 wallpaper you can spread across both? If you've got a 1280 x 1024 picture that's good enough to blow up a bit, increase its size in a graphics package to 2560 x 2048 (that's 4 times bigger) and then you can crop a 2560 x 1024 picture out of it. As I've mentioned before, save it as a bitmap at the resolution size you want; that way, you use the least system resources to refresh it.

Depends a lot on the quality of the image you start with, really. The wallpaper I posted before was blown up from a .jpg hardly bigger than a thumbnail, but is beautifully clear even at 1600 x 1200 - that .gif doesn't do it justice!
