that's way transfer market is though look at Fulham paying £11M for Ross McCormack and he never played in premier leaguer we know Borini can do it as he did last season for us and we sure need him

from the Sunderland Echo

SUNDERLAND are tonight thought to have agreed a fee with Liverpool for their main summer target Fabio Borini.

The Black Cats have been looking to bring Borini back to the Stadium of Light all summer after he enjoyed a hugely successful season-long loan stint with Sunderland last season.

Liverpool were reluctant to sell the Italian, unless they received a fee in excess of the £10million they paid Roma two years ago.

But sources on Merseyside have indicated that a fee of around £12m has been agreed between the two clubs, plus a further £2m in add-ons.

Borini is thought to be keen on returning to Sunderland too after netting 10 goals for the Black Cats last season and winning the Young Player of the Year prize.

The signing would be a massive statement of intent from Sunderland and owner Ellis Short, with the fee matching the club’s record outlay on Steven Fletcher two years ago.

Lukaku's been going here, there and everywhere over the last few weeks. To Italy, Spain, Germany or back to Everton. If you believe the papers that is. A transfer one day, then a loan or a contract extension. Most of it's just lazy journalism and will get a lot worse, again, near the transfer deadline. Wait until your team announces any deal, or be prepared to pull your hair out and be disappointed time after time.

According to the Daily Fail, Messi considered a move to Arsenal whilst the Fabregas issue was up in the air. Arsenal would have had to have parted with £197 million as that is the minimum release fee. Add in the wages, and the deal would probably have cost near to £300 million.

Let's face it though, signing Messi would have been a massive coup for Wenger and might even have got the critics to admire him for a change.

If he ever did come to England, it would have to be Chelsea or Man City to sign him as no other team could afford him.

But then Wenger would have sod else to show for it. He would have to send on Steve Bould to play alongside Messi. Its an act of hero to zero.

Wenger to sign, or even think of signing Messi. You must think its April fools day.

Firstly Messi, is worth the entire team at Arsenal. Then his wages Arsenal couldn't afford.

Lastly, Messi is a world class footballer, and wouldn't put up with the crap of not buying top class players.

This is not a dig at Arsenal's top players. But Messi is quality gold.

The question Arsenal fans have to ask themselves is has he progressed in the last 4 years and the answer to that is no while all those young German players developed into World Cup winners so personally l think that says everything.

burnt out on the pitch and off. good intentions gone wrong really. Jack Wilshere had to bulk up but because there wasnt depth at Arsenal he played during periods he should have been given rest as part of development. Arsenal are now building a squad with depth so i'd watch how he gets on now. whats done is done.

We need to nurture and look after our younger players better.

What would your thoughts be on Jack Wilshere becoming a DM/CM rather than an AM

Wilshere does have some migrating circumstances behind the fact he hasn't improved to the degree we hoped but it's also something he needs to take reasonability for. He isn't simply lacked form or playing time, he has changed mentally. He used to be quite skilful, creative and was approaching Fabregas in terms of passing.

Recently however he seems to have become ill-displined and rash, almost as if he is trying to play the 'English hardline'. He doesn't maintain position and he goes in with reckless and stupid tackles. He can't seem to control himself. He needs to cut that out and get back to his proper game rather than pretending he is something he isn't - something worse.

Doesn't have the positional discipline or the tackling ability to do that IMO.

You don't always have to go to ground to tackle but then you do need positional in your locker as you say. It could depend on partnerships rather than looking at it as a solo role.

IF Arsenal don't sign a DM/CM it'll be huge. Ideally with goalkeeper Ospina coming in adding Schneiderlin as a DM/CM should do it nicely. I'd be confident of going all the way in the league with that and thats cutting it short in defence.

LVG starts with a 7-0 win over LA Galaxy, think that says more about the standard of the MLS than anything else.
