Thenry re Wanyama and the twitter link. Firstly wouldn't trust much of anything that was on twitter. He is a smashing player though, think he's only 22, very very strong, can't get the ball off him he just shrugs off tackles with ease. He's the one player we have that looked totally comfortable against Barca. His strength allows him to run with the ball although essentially he is more of a defensive player. Scores a few rocket shots and headers, passing could be better, strolled through the SPL only really had to play at about 70% and because of this got a bit complacent at times. Positive this wouldn't be the case in the EPL as he'd need to compete 100%. Think he has bags of potential to improve from the already high level he is at. Would be gutted to see him go but sadly that's the reality of Scottish football, always has been.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

All is good but we're all a bit confused up here. Newcastle are yet to confirm his appointment

Quote:

There is still no official announcement from the club of Joe Kinnear's appointment as Newcastle United's new Director of Football.

Meanwhile, Kinnear appeared on Talksport on Monday evening and seems to have started assembling a new squad already.

New players on the clubs' books are apparently:

Gultierrez
Amanoby
Hateem Ben Arfa
Hateem Ben Afry
Cabards
Kebab

And he claimed his boss, Derek Lambeezy, had resigned.

He also had the cheek to suggest he had signed Tim Krul which is interesting given that Krul signed in July 2006 when Glenn Roeder was manager. Sam Allardyce and Kevin Keegan were in charge before Kinnear....
Something is very very wrong here. If this is some sort of stunt then I hope he gets a hell of a bashing by the Newcastle faithful.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22947908

BBC also acknowledge the only person to say he is with Newcastle is Kinnear himself.

Quote:

Press Association Sport is reporting that Joe Kinnear will today be confirmed as Newcastle's new director of football as he prepares to head into talks with manager Alan Pardew.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

It's still completely pointless and unexpected. He'll have a final say on transfers so no Cristian Rooneyaldo this summer then. We'll have to make do with Ashley Carroll or Darren Bunt. Top 10 finish, should be no less than top 6 with the current squad, ridiculous. It's becoming clearer they're obviously expecting more than a few outgoings soon. Kebab will be off, Hateem Ben Afry is likely off.

As for Pardew, if I had to answer to Joe Kinnear I'd rather take my luck with the Job Centre.

Quote:

Now now fellow Newcastle fans let's not be hasty. When we finish 16th next year Kinnear will be hailed a success because we avoided relegation and that's the Ashley masterplan don't you see?. Survive in the premiership to bring in premiership money with as little investment in the team as we can get away with. That's what we have to look forward to as Newcastle supporters, mediocrity on the pitch, a target of premier league survival and a nice little profit every year for our owner. Great.
Joe Kinnear for Sky sports commentary, thanks.

Ah yes, i have heard of pompey.

League 2 side I seem to remember. :)

Just read this:-

Quote:

The season ends with a home game and for those who dont like co incidences we face Manchester United at St Mary's, exactly the same fixture that saw us relegated in 2005, but then again on the bright side, the last time we faced West Brom on the opening day of the season, albeit at home that time, we ended the season in triumph winning the FA Cup at Wembley, so there are two sides to every story

No, we already knew he was leaving days before this, Joe Kinnear leaked it at his interview. Like I said, Something very shady is happening here. Dennis Wise next I bet. Joe Kinnear is not going to last very long despite any success that may occur whilst he's about. He is a fragile man now and this appointment isn't just wrong for Newcastle United, it's wrong for Joe Kinnear. We're expecting Alan Pardew and Graham Carr's resignations in the coming days, back to square 1 for Newcastle United.

Llambias was due to do an official resignation at St James' Park it seems and Joe Kinnear spoilt that by revealing everything in his interview. Llambias seemed annoyed and resigned via phone call this morning.

I think it's safe to say we had our high times too early in the Premier League, The Entertainers Era is long gone and the following Gascoigne, Shearer, Beardsley, Waddle, Bruce, Pallister, Robson are long gone with it. How much money could these guys produce in this era of football? If Shearer was going for a world record £15m back then, how much would he have gone for today? We finished runners up granted and played in a few Champions League campaigns and whilst we blew it, it would not be the same today, the money we'd earn would be ridiculous and brighten the horizon for Newcastle. Another team I feel for is Blackburn Rovers, if they'd won a Premier League this era they'd be rolling in it.

I think it's safe to say Mike Ashley is looking to push people out of the door without formally dismissing them.

Never to the extent of twenty million and never for just one player still it's a neat tactic you attempt to employ every time someone criticises Liverpool, to try and compare the criticism to the other persons club but when it comes to wasting money Liverpool are the best even city and Chelsea don't come close because they can afford it.

I think you'll find it's lambizi, feel for you, gutted doesn't come close to describing the tone of your recent posts. Thing to remember is no matter how bad it gets owners don't last forever, clubs do, Newcastle will still be there long after Ashley and all the rest of us are gone.

I've lost track with this transfer, with so many turns or difference in reporting of the story by the media.. I mean Marca were quoting the Daily Mail lol Arsenal will pay big wages but they wont throw money. 150k is what some of the press are reporting which is nuts. anyway the 'pipe dream' will happen. its just a matter of time now. sooner the better.

Graham Carr is set to leave Newcastle United.

Derek 'Llambizi' quit for what we now believe is Joe Kinnear's inability to spot players, Llambias has been in negotiation with Douglas from FC Twente since the close season only for Joe Kinnear to say he has no idea who he is and he's not interested.

We seriously have no idea where Mike Ashley is going with all of this.

Alan Shearer's name was ripped from the Bar in the gallowgate end hours after a verbal attack on Mike Ashley.

Mike Ashley might be the owner of a big company but it has not got a clue about running a football club.
