The rumour is that this is the first of 3 from the NRL heading to Warrington for next year

Quote:

Warrington have signed Fiji international forward Ashton Sims on a two-year deal.

The prop, who appeared alongside his brothers, Tariq and Korbin, at last year’s World Cup, will join the Wolves next season after completing his club commitments in the NRL with the North Queensland Cowboys.

WOLVES’ latest recruit Ashton Sims admits it is a ‘big honour’ to be joining the club for the 2015 Super League season.

The 29-year-old North Queensland Cowboys prop has agreed a two-year deal at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

“I’m absolutely pumped and excited,” said Sims. “It’s certainly a big honour and they’ve been going really well this year too, so it’s exciting stuff for me personally.

Well the club call was used to good effect so you had to work your socks off against us. Seems to have worked as i hear Micky Mac is not playing. Club call is one thing i would bin if i was in charge of super League, the other is to have double refs to stop the off the ball challenges on kickers.

Ben Flower: Shaun Wane 'will stand by' dismissed Wigan prop

Asked how he could defend the punch, Wane responded: "You can't. It's a rush of blood.

"It's the Wigan-Saints derby and everybody is getting whacked off the ball and he made an error.

"He'll be really upset with what he's done to his team-mates, but that's just the character and why we love Ben Flower so much.
What about the man he knocked out and then hit full in the face on the ground.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/29586010

Some of the forum posters Here think the Police should get involved based on the fact he punched an unconscious defenseless man on the ground.

quote from twitter
Quote:

No such thing as bad publicity is wrong.

A few Twitter messages.

Barrow Police: "When out and about tonight don't act like @WiganWarriorsRL Ben Flower or you will end up #bangedupinbarrow"

QPR midfielder Joey Barton: "Actually feel a bit sorry for Ben Flower. Lance started it with his elbow. Superb first dig from Flower. Second when he's KO'd is out of order."

Former England rugby union player Brian Moore: "Ben Flower - his first punch was retaliation for a cheap shot on him; second one was unforgiveable."

Former Wigan winger Martin Offiah: "Second punch Flower threw was over the top but in Rugby League if you forearm somebody in the face you can't complain if he clocks you one if I had done what Lance did I'd expect a slap. You play with fire you get burnt man. Lance Hohia will never attack Ben Flower again. Not condoning second punch on a prone player. I don't remember trying to take on a prop. You don't attack props and there was some provocation. If by stating that it makes me Satan then so be it."

Former England striker Gary Lineker: "If only other team sports could match the on-field behaviour of football."

Former England striker Michael Owen: "In China but just seen those punches in the Super League Grand Final on Twitter. First one was shocking but the second one was a disgrace. Can you imagine the outcry if a footballer did that? Can sort of understand the first punch after being provoked but to hit someone again when they are already out cold is hard to understand."

It will bring nothing but embarrassment to the sport.

I don't, it should have been from the start of the next season. Once again the RFL have no bottle. Lets see if Saints decided to press the matter but i don't think they will. The posters on RFLfans forum also think it is far to lenient. The reality is he got a 2 month ban as the off season games mean sod all.

The reality is he has given the Game all the wrong publicity, even people in the office where i work who don't watch the game know about it and all they can say is "if rugby is like that then it needs sorting out".

I just hope it now makes the Ref's more ready to use the red card when hand bags get thrown about :)

Its essentialy a 13 game ban or a 10 league game ban. I was expecting a 12 game ban. I think people have overreacted and jumped on the bandwagon, its a fair ban in my opinion.

I think the one game ban Hohaia got was lenient...

Well other then him being chucked out of the club l personally would have been happy if he had had a 12 month ban as what he did was indefensible

Good game but boy was Wigan holding down a lot. Like to see them do that with a team who have bigger forwards ;)

I think the Ref needs a kick in the arse as well he missed loads of hits off the ball on the kicker.

Re: Super league

I think the only one he missed was Farrell in the first half, the rest were fine I thought. They were valid attempts to tackle the kicker, you can't penalise every hit on the kicker that's slightly late.

We really should've won this, we threw so many good opportunities away and played awfully in the second half against 12 men.

Well it will be interesting what the match review board say about that game on Monday. The biggest problem was with the Ref last night and that will not be dealt with in public if anything is raised.

What did you think of the red card?

Should have been a yellow just like the Matty Smith one. Lets face it Matty Smith kicked another player who had his back turned to him which is a nasty trick and that was only a yellow card. Cannot wait to see if Matty Smith is as hard as that against Simms or Westwood

Wigan will have to wait until next week to find out if scrum-half Matty Smith faces a ban following his sin-binning against Widnes.

Widnes produce stunning fightback to draw with Wigan with 12 men.

Smith was ordered off by referee James Child in the closing minute of the thrilling 22-22 draw that kicked off the 2015 First Utility Super League season.

The former St Helens playmaker appeared to kick out at Vikings full-back Rhys Hanbury as he was celebrating the late try by Chris Deans that drew his side level.

Hanbury got what he deserved, purposely celebrating right in front of him, pretty sad you have to run over to an opposition player to celebrate in front of them rather than with your own team mates...but obviously Smith got what he deserved for retaliating. I can see why the red was given, don't think you're supposed to tackle with a clenched fist swinging to the face! I thought he would have been given a yellow though.

It will be interesting to see who goes down at the end of this year as well.

Well after Warrington and Wigan did Super league proud over the last couple of days, St. Helens are making us a laughing stock. Completely useless and totally outclassed by South Sydney. 24-0 and its not even half time!

I have no time for Saints and have not watched the game as i think top Gear will be more entertaining than the so called entertainers :D. Warrington and Wigan i feel will be at each other in the final this year and that will be a game to watch :tu:

Finished 39-0 I think it shows how lucky Saints were to win it last year. Even though South Sydney are a fantastic side, Saints weren't even close to their level. I liked the idea of the series of games for the world club championship, I thought it worked well and hope it continues.

Have to agree with you, if flower had not been an idiot and been sent off the score would have been different.

Warrington or Wigan would have put up a far bigger fight looking at that score.

Saints were an embarrassment to Super League tonight and by the standard they showed i don't think any team in super league will be worried about facing them from now on.
