Sat with Mrs blackthorn last night and decided to have a look at the films. She made me give up after 20 minutes and watch live tv as it was taking too long to scroll through the films. It was taking nearly 1 minute to get from the bottom of the list to the next page.
Are there any lists of the films anywhere that I can print off and then use the search, maybe that would be quicker.

To save you scrolling through each film individually just press channel down and that does a whole page at a time.
Admittedly it takes ages still and after I got to mid alphabet I got bored and cancelled out and that was supposedly with about 150 films in the list!

That will save me scrolling through

Oh yes. My TiVo has even crashed several times due to this. Sadly, I'll stay away from Sky Movies on Demand until they are categorized into something more manageable that won't choke my box.

It doesn't make sense. Surely a list of the films shouldn't slow it up like that?

It means that I'm going to have to look them up online, choose one, then "search and browse" for it on the box instead.

It's a flawed system otherwise.

I have tested on the office TV and seems to be ok here. There is a known fault in general with the menu systems either being slow or can freeze up causing the box to become unresponsive. If this happens you can use the following sequence to unlock the box instead of rebooting or waiting for a response.

THUMBS DOWN --> THUMBS UP --> PLAY X 3.

This reset's the UI and allows you to carry on navigating as normal.

I do apologise for the inconvenience but we hope to have this fault fixed soon in the next code download.

Thanks.

So, 2 questions - has Sky Anytime been rolled out yet to North East Lincs and if it has, has it just been clumped together on the catch up on demand service listings? I have XL TV and a TiVo box and 50 MB BB if that makes any difference?

No you have to subscribe to Movies and Sports to be able to have access to it but in time some content will become available to customers on the lower packages.

BenMcr 25-10-2011 14:04

Re: Sky Anytime

There are two parts

Sky Anytime for the 'basic' channels (Sky 1/Sky Living etc). This is currently XL customers only

Sky Anytime for Sky Movies (and soon Sky Sports). This is available to customers with M/M+/L or XL as long as they subscribe to the appropriate Sky Premium channels

I expect it'll be the 'basic' content that next year will be avaliable to M+ and L customers

Perfect Choice 26-10-2011 10:16

Re: Sky Anytime

I can see Sky Movies and Sports now have categories or A to Z options but on my Tivo Sky Anytime (on TV XL) still has a long list so is the same change going to be applied to the Sky Anytime channel lists?.

Just accessed the Sky One list and could only go down 2 pages before it gave up (down to Julia Davis's Little Cracker!), basically I cannot see what is below that on the list as Tivo just stops scrolling down. I see at the bottom of the 2nd page "Kathy Burke's Little Cracker (series1)" in darker grey which usually means it is the next item at the top of the next page of programmes available but if I try and go 1 down on the list I just get nothing and the message "No programmes Currently Available".

The list shows the programmes in alphabetical order so surely must be more programmes past "J"!!

Is this a fault or just what is there right now? Can anybody else check please and report what they can see on the Sky One list?

spiderplant 26-10-2011 10:46

Re: Sky Anytime

It's a fault, but comparing with other people may well mislead you, unless they are also in Nottingham. Each region is updated separately so they can be in different states.

To work round the fault, try skipping to the end of the list with ->| then page backwards.

Ah! a fault then. Tried -> as suggested, got to the end of the Sky One list and managed to go 1 page up then no more. So can see the first 2 and last 2 pages of programmes. What is between them (between J and P) is a mystery to me right now!

Not a key issue for me right now but just spotted I could not access everything that could be avaialbe, willw ait for a fix which hopefully will incude be a proper menu structure.

I believe it is. I'm still struggling with the menus in "on demand" here in Scotland too. In order to find movies I use the browse function and if I see something I want to watch I can view it, or if it isn't available in "on demand" I set it to record and continue to browse. Found some real good films this way.

Right OK, I'm confused.

I can see content such as Terra Nova on the Virgin Media Player but nowhere on the Sky Anytime on the Tivo/V+ box. Is this the way it will be? Only able to watch the good US content online after wrestling with a 'register device' problem?

Or are we to expect the content to be available on the Tivo/V+ as well?

I can't find any recent TV on my V+ at all and some of the older shows its 1 totally random episode.

Is there any chance of content showing on TiVo if you 'Explore This Show' or on the green button for recent shows in the future?

Woulda preferred if they'd loaded the more recent sky one stuff too instead of Biggins Christmas Cracker! Is it Biggins? It's crap people like that anyway:confused:

Not sure if I'm having the same problem as others, but when selecting Sky 1 in Sky Anytime, I can't get past the second page of programmes, just seems to freeze up. This is on a TIVO box. Is this what others are getting?

Romanzo Criminale of Sky Arts episode 1 is on Virgin Media player but not on Anytime on the boxes.

Episode 5 played tonight on sky arts 1. and they're available on sky's anytime.

i was watching Jackass:The Movie on Sky Anytime yesterday and 30 mins in it stopped and came up with an error and said issues with on demand, and then a message on top left of my Tivo said said Network issues. Anyone else had an issue like this?
