But take a look at the date :(

If it materialises then it could be good - but I wouldn't get you're hopes up. If I recall correctly it was due around the same time as the new blakes 7 series (which totally failed to take off)

edit - and from imdb
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366112/

Looks like a new Blakes 7 may be a goer after all....

Just hope they don't change the liberator.

I suppose it depends if it's a remake or a sequel.

It would be nice if they could find a souped up liberator type ship :)

Another (longer) article. Apparently they are making two 60 minute episodes.

Being Human

If you watched this one off drama back in February you may be interested to know that the BBC have comissioned a 6 part series. Being human was about two friends (one is a werewolf, the other is a vampire) who live in a house with a young woman (who is a ghost).

Any suggestions for the actress to play Servelan? :naughty:

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets

Dr Richard Dawkins will play himself in the Dr Who S4 finale, Michael Brandon will also appear as a General.

The next Christmas special should feature the Cybermen as they have been spotted on location (filming in a graveyard).

ITV have picked up the new Sanctuary series to be shown on ITV4 later this year.

The BSG prequal series (Caprica) is taking shape, with the Graystones and the Adams (later to be the Adamas).

Although not officially announced, SC-FI do not appear to have renewed Flash Gordon.

Primevals third season has begun filming, with three new characters joining the cast.

Interesting stuff about Dr Who :tu:

Also the confirmation of Sanctuary on ITV - the first tranche demanded a sequel, so something to look forward to - in my opinion, of course ;)

Thanks Paul ..

I can't be bothered to get involved with fantasy/SF TV shows anymore. So many get cancelled and when you have invested time in getting to know the characters and their stories, it's rather peeving to find yourself left hanging mid story wondering how it all turns out. It really pees me off.

The end result is I just don't watch them. What's the point in never knowing how a story ends?

I'd rather buy a book and know that there will be an ending of sorts and I won't be wasting my time.

I know how you feel - the attitude of the tv companies is very confusing - basically they want long running series, with big story arcs, but they also want to be a ratings hit straight away - so basically they want the last season of a popular series straight away - which is never going to happen - and whenever ratings drop they can it.

Fox announced their schedule today.

We already know the Sarah Connor Chronicles was returning for Season 2, now confirmed as well are Bones (Season 4), Prison Break (Season 4), The Simpsons (Season 20) and 24 (Day 7). There will also be a two hour 24 special on Nov 23 to bridge the gap between Day 6 and Day 7.

There is also a new series called Fringe

Just a suggestion, but you should check out TV.com, especially for American shows, as you can often find info about whether a show gets canned early before it gets shown over here.

Gotta agree, i really do wonder how this is going to pan out in Series 4... Simply can't wait for it to be on air, although obviously i have to. This is one of the (admittedly few) shows i really do enjoy watching as well. Thank god Booth isn't dead though, the show wouldn't be the same without him.

For those who follow the US showing of programmes, two shows return in July ;

Eureka (Season 3) returns on July 29th.
Stargate Atlantis (Season 5) returns on July 11th.

On a seperate note, there are rumours that there may be one or more Battlestar Galactica "made for tv" movies filmed later this year - but they wont be set after S4 ends but sometime in the S1 - S4 timeline..

Its not rumors, there is one already in production called 'Caprica' and will show the beginning of the Cylons. Cast has been confirmed for the story as well.

There's a problem with 24. Jack doesn't seem to age in it. I mean, he must be in his 50s and the stuff that happens to him? All the running he does, the torture he goes through.

Also, do we expect to see flying cars or the start of flying cars in this season? I wonder if they'll also show custom cars...

It's only when you look back at some of the really old episodes of SG-1 that you realise how far it's drifted from where it started. It's gone kind of the way Star Trek did, much too obsessed with its own universe and mythos with too little attention to just telling good, self-contained sci-fi adventure stories.

I've been chuckling about that all evening. Over at the doctorwhoforum.com they've been organising official outings to go and see Tennant at the RSC. There are a lot of Who nutters who are going to be very unhappy indeed.

Excellent.

I still need to get the original miniseries + The Final Battle first though.

Used to have the lot on VHS. Not seen it in years.

It's harmless, camp fun, and Diana is a superb old-school baddie, but one of the greatest ever? I don't think so.

The whole lot was repeated from start to finish on Sci Fi about 18 months ago IIRC, I watched it all then.

Apparently not...However the author chosen is rather a good children's author..the Artemis Fowl book I read seemed pretty decent.

You mean Peter Davison, whose wife was Trillian in the TV series. I'll stop now :D

Was Peter Davison playing the Cash cow?

I've seen the webisodes. It's OK, it uses god knows how much CGI instead of sets. I've looked at the trailers of it, but they seem to just show parts of the webisodes.

That is one thing I will be interested to see - i.e. whether this forthcoming series will rely so heavily on CGI ...

You see the webisodes, like? It has a lot of potential.
