It's either adverts or you pay for the service.

Some adverts can be entertaining but things like insurance adverts will always be useful.

That's just it. It does. Assuming you are talking about spam ads online, they only cost a little for thousands of views, so they only need a few people to actually respond to the ad. if thousands of people see it, it's likely that enough will respond for the add to be successful.

Oak furniture land advert where the stupid bint has solid oak and then has it in battleship grey. What's the point? It might as well be MDF. What a waste of good hardwood.

I hate all the gambling ad's that profligate everywhere and the sponsorship "barkers".

I think gaming companies should get the same rules as tobacco.

Yeah I sort of agree with you but we always have to be careful we don`t become too much of a nanny state.

Not when children are being attracted to the betting industry by the nice shiny ads? I think it's time they toned down the ads or even better ban them altogether. Gambling addiction is as bad as tobacco addiction. It ruins lives.

Yes as I said I sort of agree and they should certainly be much stricter rules. In my opinion i`d say no gambling adverts before 9 o clock at night. But then some would say kids watch tv till late into the night so where do we draw the line. Ultimately it`s surely up to parents to keep tighter reigns on their ofspring, and make it their business to know exactly what they`re up to in and out of the home.

Not seen before now but very clever. It must be American though as Walmart in this country is known as Asda?

Yup and Asda has been doing click and collect for yonks. They dont need to promote it because it is popular enough as it is.

Kevin Bacon - If you’re an NHS worker on an EE pay monthly mobile plan, unlimited data until 9th October.

Oh yeah Kevin Bacon. Unlimited data for NHS workers on EE pay monthly,I presume some would consider that a good deal.

Well it's a nice thing for EE today. Kevin Bacon normally fronts the adverts for EE.

However that current advert was shot and put out using a smart phone I guess as it was filmed during lockdown. That's why Kevin looks rough.

I'm so with you on the funeral plan adverts such as Sunlife. The amount paid out is nowhere near enough to pay for even the most basic funeral or leave's little something for your loved one's'. The adverts themselves make me cringe too!

My wife is a nurse but EE aren't giving her free data as she's in PAYG. (they didn't mention anything about that exclusion in their ad !.)

These advertisers trying to get commercial advantage out of the current situation are pathetic. McCain oven chips are latest ones to claim they are helping us through the crisis somehow

funny you should say that because they have gone from the same repetitive "bla bla makes her cakes" ad to loads of different ones recently. They obviously dont need to advertise because they have been ridiculously busy during the lockdown so what other agenda are they trying to pursue :erm:

Pffffttt - schoolboy chemistry; if you want to remove every trace of limescale (and anything else within a couple of hundred metres), use FOOF* (Dioxygen difluoride)... :D

Here’s how the experimental prep of today’s fragrant breath of spring starts:
Quote:

The heater was warmed to approximately 700C. The heater block glowed a dull red color, observable with room lights turned off. The ballast tank was filled to 300 torr with oxygen, and fluorine was added until the total pressure was 901 torr. .
And yes, what happens next is just what you think happens: you run a mixture of oxygen and fluorine through a 700-degree-heating block. “Oh, no you don’t,” is the common reaction of most chemists to that proposal, “. . .not unless I’m at least a mile away, two miles if I’m downwind.” This, folks, is the bracingly direct route to preparing dioxygen difluoride, often referred to in the literature by its evocative formula of FOOF.
