Well I'm in the other side of Manchester from the Wythenshawe and Stockport people and I'm still on 2mb

Still, I'm going on holiday in a couple of days so I really couldn't care less  :)

Was you on 2MB, then upgraded 4MB and downgraded to 2MB again? If so try rebooting your modem once more, then check 192.168.100.1 using 'root' as the user/pass.

I was upgraded to 4mb today automatically, I did not downgrade the speed myself.

I checked 192.168.100.1

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000 bps
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 200000 bps

Weird?????

I'm also in Worthing and I've rebooted twice and mines showing as:

Tue, 13 Jun 2006 20:58:05 GMT

1st 512K took 1594 ms = 321.2 KB/sec, approx 2647 Kbps, 2.58 Mbps
2nd 512K took 2172 ms = 235.7 KB/sec, approx 1942 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
3rd 512K took 2172 ms = 235.7 KB/sec, approx 1942 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
4th 512K took 2109 ms = 242.8 KB/sec, approx 2001 Kbps, 1.95 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 2133 Kbps, 2.08 Mbps

So I'm getting impatient and hoping it will happen overnight..

Also, my newsgroup downloading is very poor tonight so hopefully thats a sign that they are doing something to the network.

That looks to me more like 2MBit with a proxy spike :)

---------- Post added at 22:01 ---------- Previous post was at 21:58 ----------

Since the 4meg updates have started happening my downloads have been spiking up to 4meg and then settling down to 2... is this down to NTL unlocking the network and not handling the speeds quite properly?
