Speedier apps with the latest 360 software? Sounds decent. Apps are already quite fast. Do we know if anything else is coming up with this new update?

Parmount+ goes 4K on 20th November - hopefully the VM app will have it.

I've got 5.14 on my stream box. According to VM's community forum, it's supposed to add episode info to the FAST channels to the TV Guide, but it doesn't look any different to me.

I can see no difference. Maybe the capability to add information on episodes has been added, but Virgin hasn’t enabled it yet.

Have you now got rid of the 360 in favour of stream?

Let me know when the 360 gets upgraded with Tivo functions and I'll go for it.

In fact I think I must have the Tivo 'upgrade' already, so I'm ahead of you ;)

That was my plan, but we still haven't got Discovery+, and I need that as my wife enjoys TLC, DMax, Discovery, etc.

So I have accepted a cheaper deal for the same content that they offered me, which is some consellation.

I understand that Discovery+ is to be replaced by Max in 2026, and I think that the information about Discovery+ coming to Virgin this year has been superceded as a result.

So I will review our subscriptions at that time, and in the light of the monthly charges Virgin is now making for their Virgin Stfeam boxes.

not really sure what i'm missing compared to the v6? i particularly love the watchlist functionality which means i can immediately access something on demand without needing to record.

more apps, the box is quicker and recordings work perfectly. plus i now get sky sports + too.

genuinely not sure what i'm missing and i had the v6 for ten years and the original tivo for like 5 years!

You're missing :-

  • Wishlists
  • undelete
  • series link+
  • series link manager
  • suggestions
  • skip-back on fast-forward
  • quickview
  • default recording options
  • cancelling individual recordings from a series link
  • multi-channel series links
  • allowing recording of radio
  • separation of recordings between boxes
  • watching recordings when internet is not available
  • a lot of programme info on the epg

VM however is gaining the cost of your Tivo licence so it's an 'upgrade' for them !

My internet was down for four days and was able to watch individual recordings on the 360.
