Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I am sure that members know about my TiVo box problems and the the amount of engineers to come out and repair it.
Well have a guess what happened on Monday - yes, it went wrong again, and the engineer called again today and have a guess - they done the same as before. I have spoken with an engineer where l work in Ealing and he told be the exact problem again and told me it needs a NEW cable to the house and that the TiVo box needs a signal of 0.6 to 6. Why is it that Engineers know the problem where l work, but not the engineers where l live. I simply give up. |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Hi Devilincarnate, I have sent an email to Niel Berkett, Niel Hartham and received £30.00 in discount as a sweeteners.
Been told that it will be fixed properly, been told that a senior engineer will call (that was a trainee that turned up) received a call from another manager and was told that the booster was installed as it would cost too much money to change the cable, It needs a new cable as we have an old cable from the Kelly days. I was told by TWO engineers where l work in Ealing, and both have said the same The cable needs replacing as a start, as the cable we have now is not strong enough for the TiVo box. They also said that it is no good increasing the power signal at the main box if the cable is not strong enough. The CEO's office have been told many times, my wife doesn't want to cause problems, but l have said that WE are paying for this, and l accept that problems will arise, BUT not SIX times now, on the same problems. Prime examplr, we recorded Mrs Browns Boys the other night as we had guest's went to look at the recording - and my god it was a terrible recording - all white squares, freeze of picture. This is what we have to put up with, if l had a hammer l would smash the damn thing and go back to Sky. |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
How long does it take for the Suggestions folder in My Shows take to fill up with shows? I only noticed this morning that the option to record Suggestions was turned off, so after turning it on only 3 things appeared there. Does it take a few weeks to populate fully?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
It depends on how much you :tu: and :td: stuff and can vary even then. Sometimes I have a lot in my list and sometimes I don't. (I don't 'auto-record' then though anyway.)
You have to remember that "it's not an exact science", as they say :) |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Thanks Carl. Been 3 weeks tomorrow since installation, and I am still getting to know it. I suppose it will take time for me to get used to it doing most of the work for me, I still find myself going through channels looking for something to watch, instead of looking at the suggestions list.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Three weeks should be enough to get some suggestions in there. I mostly ignore them completely myself as I have enough to watch without them.
Quick tip. If you occasionally find yourself recording something but don't want Tivo making any suggestions based on it (I sometimes record a news bulletin, for example) then give it a :td: before setting it to record :) |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Hopefully it will work, went to watch something on the Sports channels at the weekend with the red button and it froze the box. Had to switch off at wall and switch back on to get it going again.

It's not here either but I have noticed that in the Sky Sports App thingy, they still have all the old prices listed. Tut-tut.
