Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
it would be good if sky sports bought it out and put all the uk promoters under 1 roof with the money they already give to matchroom and add the £10 a month i dont think its impossible. they could then say we have 52 saturdays and they all get together and put so may shows a week at uk time from matchroom, warren, maloney, hatton goldenboyuk and sauerland then use the smaller promoters coldwell, greaves, wood, and others to put on 52 decent shows on friday nights and then get the goldenboy, toprank and other usa and mexican promoters putting fights on during the night most saturday nights.........if only carlsberg did boxing!

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
The Guardian are reporting that Ricky Burns will join Matchroom tomorrow:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013...urns-matchroom One thing in the article from Warren that has got me excitied: Warren said. "You'll see some seriously good announcements next week." I've heard rumours that the next Amir Khan fight and Floyd Mayweather fight will be on Boxnation! |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
i cant see how you can just sign with another promoter if your already signed up with another. i think it will be luke campbell as the dancing on ice finishes today and he said he had some more signings lined up weeks ago before this fight got put back from 16th march and i doubt burns would fight on an undercard headlined by brian rose. i think they will announce the tim bradley fight and possibly the rios show and golovin show at end of month. hopefully they announce khan and mayweather but it could be signing hatton promotions and toprank deal!

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/pe...r-8527887.html If Warren is struggling to compete with SKY in terms of British shows, it would be in his best interest to invest in as much top action as possible from home and abroad to bolster his channel. Amir Khan, Floyd Mayweather, Top Rank, Hatton Promotions and Anthony Joshua are the types of names and promotions I'd love to see on the channel. |

Warren smiles again and makes this arresting revelation: ‘Amir Khan is coming over to BoxNation for his homecoming fight next month. We will also be the British broadcaster for Floyd Mayweather’s comeback against Robert Guerrero on May 4 in Las Vegas. And there will be a lot more for the boxing fans to watch.’ |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Other interesting info from Frank interview:
"‘No exaggeration – unlike the reports of my demise – we peaked at 240,000 for the Haye-Chisora fight last summer. Then, during the quiet period for boxing in December, January and early February we dropped to 120,000 . But it’s rising again and we will climb back above 200,000 fairly shortly." "He admits his disappointment at not securing Ricky Hatton’s one-and-only comeback fight but is turning that to his advantage: ‘Ricky hoped for a big pay-per-view audience on Primetime but they fell short of 100,000 buys. I feel sorry for him. He lost money because our guarantee was more than he got." There is also a suggestion in the article that HD is very much on it's way! |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

If they market next month correctly, I think they will do record subscription and viewing figures. £10.00 for one month with no minimum term. Join on the 06th of April and cancel on the 06th May and you'll enjoy: 12th April - Yaquib Kareem v Paul Butler 20th April - Nathan Cleverly v Robin Krasniqi 27th April - Amir Khan v Julio Diaz 27th April - Sergio Martinez v Martin Murray 27th April - Danny Garcia v Zab Judah 27th April - Peter Quillin v Fernando Guerrero 04th May - Floyd Mayweather v Robert Guerrero 04th May - Daniel Ponce De Leon v Abner Mares Also the following shows are expected to be confirmed in the next couple of weeks: 13th April - Nonito Donaire v Guillermo Rigondeux 20th April - Saul Alvarez v Austin Trout If SKY are now charging £17.95 for SKY Box Office, £10.00 for all the above action is a must. |
